I mentioned it in a thread yesterday. I will pose an open question to the entire board.
Does anyone out there think that this is the same team that barely beat SDSU in week one?
The answer is a resounding no! This team is improving every single week, and after a 3-9 season, can we ask for anything more? Last year's team would have went to UNC and got hammered. Look how far we have come.
I know that there are Irish fans who say, hey, we are Notre Dame, we should be at the top every year. Well I understand that, but this is not 1970 anymore. It is a different world. It is too competitive this year. We have been down for awhile, but if you can't see the talent level rising in South Bend, then you are just blind.
Charlie said after the game yesterday he could see the pain in his player's eyes, and the pain is there b/c his guys are really starting to get it. This has been said on this board before, but there are stages to building a winning team. Hoping to win, expecting to win, knowing you will win. We expected to win the game yesterday. We are almost there.
Look how far we have come. I think some people forget just how bad we were last year. I remember when the offense had the ball last year I knew something bad was going to happen. Not the case anymore.
With all the strides we have made, if you aren't all in with these guys now, you will never be.
