Recruiting is one reason I wish they would shit can BVG now. At least if a few drop we can backfill. Or who knows, perhaps some didn't commit because of BVG and will jump on.

Not completely accurate. BK said they were going to try some different personnel on defense. What he said was that he actually felt better about the defensive coaches/coaching after this game.

I've been a big BK supporter for awhile. Thick and thin type stuff. Nitpicked here and there, but always wanted to stick with him. That quote single-handily is changing my mind. Three years of BVG defense has given us an average scoring defense ranking of 70+ nationally. That's fucking inexcusable given the talent on this team. How many games has the offense put up 30 or more points only to lose the game? It has to be a ton. If BK can't see that BVG is a major MAJOR problem to this program, then he deserves to lose his job as well. This team, if shit doesn't get fixed fast, is a 5-7 team. 5-7!!! With a first-round QB....

But yet it was still Duke's best game against a D1 school. They score 14 points against Wake Forest and 13 points against Northwestern. I am calling BULLSHIT.

When we give up 45pts to a crappy Duke team and drop to 1-3 after a 45-42 loss.

The biggest issue, along with many others, is the lack of wrapping up. I will never understand the whole "let's run into the ball carrier with our shoulder and hope they fall down." I know every defensive player wants to lay the "boom" on a guy but man it's pathetic to watch when the ball carrier just bounces off them or runs through the arm tackles.

The whole defensive staff just need to get back to the basics and teach simple fundamentals and I promise better results will come.
