Bring Charlie Back!!!

There are about 7 or 8 options that are worth taking as opposed to giving Charlie the 6th year. All the litle things that may folks mention need to be fixed when you add them up = losses and new coach time. Teams like Iowa do the little things right alongwith the big things (blocking and tackling). This has not been a hallmark of any CW team. We have not won the battle slong either side of the line of scrimmage since Charlie arrived. This is a hallmark of ND football alonwith defense and a dominant running game. If Charlie was outside of ND looking in like 6 years ago what do you think he would say? I think he would rival NDOM in his criticism of the current regime.

nope. dont want a guy who improved a team that much in only his third year, from an 1-11 talentless, uncompetitive team to 8-4 against one of the 5 toughest schedules in the country, using mostly players that were from middle of the road recruiting classes, and playing with passion every week.

...and how does he recruit only 2 and three star kids if he has 2 nfl caliber running backs, a 2009 recruiting class rated in the top 15, and a 2010 class projected to be a top 10 class? according to you he cant recruit and he is not a good coach....then they have no business beating ranked teams and going 8-4 against a schedule that tough....i guess they just got lucky.

i cant imagine Stanford being any good at all in the coming years. i mean, if they go 8-4 with no name recruits against a top flight schedule, are they going to get any better with top 10 recruiting classes?

OH....I FORGOT...THE CHARLIE WEIS INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN A TRAIN WRECK.

a team that goes 1-11 clearly has very little talent....could it be a new coach brought out the best in these 2 and 3 star recruits? there is your answer. its called coaching a player to his full potential and knowing how to use what he has got. get over your hatred for the guy.

Nope - nothing to do with Michigan.... we've gambled. Don't want to raise a new coach. He beat USC with a team that went 1-11 four years ago.... Washington beat USC with a team that went 0-12 last year. Says more about us (losing to overrated USC) that JH's great coaching. Oregon was flat coming off what it thought was a big upset of USC. Stanford beat Oregon, USC... lost 3 to every other team of any caliber... and Wake Forrest. Barkley threw 3 ints (2 tipped) in Stanford's red zone - spotted them 21.

Every argument for Harbaugh is what he's almost done, or what he might do, or what he could have done.... if CW beat USC and went 7-5 or 8-4, by your reasoning... he would be great to have back.

Have I defended our present coaching scheme or situation.... these are the same kids who were offered to fill slots at Florida, USC, Oklahoma, Michigan and Ohio State.... every school overrated them or we just happened to get the ones overrated and qualified to get into ND?

I think that if Charlie would be kept for 5 more years 4 out of those 5 years would be great years and the other would be a rebuilding year. Hes starting to recruit great Defensive players and when was the last time ND was competitive every game? all the other years we were blown out in one or 2 games. Patience is key

I would take that gamble, He is a motivator and a coach who develops the players in the trenches. HE has done more this season than Charlie has in the last three. HE has the charisma, energy and skills to get ND back at the next level. I would rather put him across the field from Pete or Urban.

but, i agree that he will be a great hire for someone (probably an nfl team or Michigan), it just wont be ND.

its odd that he is accused of not recruiting great players, but then he can either beat good teams (more this year alone than ND has beaten in the last 3 years combined) and if not, hang with them.......so, he must be a very good motivator/teacher to get them where they are in 3 years....id bet he would be very happy to be able to come to ND and recruit 4 and 5 star talent then coach them up to their potential (along with the kids that are already here)....then i think ND would be scary.

It does ND no service to fire Charlie Weis. It only adds to the look of instabillity created by the hire fire hire road we seem to be stuck on. Charlie put guys on the field who go up and get the ball and come down running. Receivers today look for a flag before they look for the ball. These guys are good. And you know what was really bad losing to two service academies in one year. Oh yeah and losing to the worst D 1 team in the USA on senior day. Oh yeah losing AGAIN with a previously ranked team to Navy IN SOUTH BEND. IT GETS NO WORSE THAN THAT , the only way to go is up.

........Callahan to Nebraska, Zook to Florida, Willingham to Washington, Hawkins to Colorado. There are plenty of examples of both success, and failure. No one will really know, until it happens.

The Weis era is over. Move on. Weis beat nobody. He might have been the biggest failure at ND ever. At least these other coaches won some games against superior teams. Nice guy, hard worker, disaster as a coach.
