Look at the way BVG got fired. Coaches don't get let go nicely. It is brutal. Agree. I have zero animosity towards him and think it may work out great for both schools. Everyone celebrated when he did the same thing to Cincinnati. I knew then that it was part of the business of coaching and I still feel that way.

That said, the fake southern accent is unreal. Guy is straight mercenary.

It's been less than a week. He had 12 years here, left in a flash, and then said he went to where "the best players are". That is a major F U. Part of getting paid a ton of money is so that when you get let go (oh, and usually still get paid) is that you can take some public criticism. Everyone here holds Lea is a high light and the criticism was that it was a bad move for his career since so many respect him. BVG should have been fired into the sun.

I know it is in a typical situation and he is, but it's also the single most glaring flaw he had at ND... I'm not saying he should go outside his circle just because but he definitely should take some risks. That being said, S&C was never a strong point prior to Balis. Flint was part of that. People weren't sticking their neck out for him.

Just not very original. He had the most success with coaches when he went outside his comfort zone.

BK literally brought over his entire staff from Cincy. It's a common practice. It's familiarity and continuity.

S&C specifically is common to bring with you. Flint has learned under Balis and still relatively young when Balis came in. Their current S&C has expected to retire/step down. I’m all for “FBK” for the things he deserves but also not gonna clown a guy who won us a lot of games for every action he makes.
