I'm not saying I'm for the plan, and I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think you can possibly get rid of Social Security at this point and you probably can't replace it easily, it would be too messy having the existing generation paying for the retirees and then pulling the rug out from under them when they reach retirement...wouldn't go over well. It has to continue, so the best thing to do is probably reallocate budget to it and quit stealing from it like a slush. Hopefully they don't adjust benefits, that would be a last resort to keep it afloat.

Clearly it’s Biden’s fault for carrying out Trumps extraction plan for Afganistan. Ignoring the fact that Chinese balloons passed over the us during Trumps presidency, and also similar UFOs shot down over Canada and South America in the last week.

I don't think anyone had an extraction plan in place, I think only a timeline was established. Trump probably should have had one, and it sure didn't look like Biden had one. It was like "Oh shit, we need to leave."

That was not how it went down.

The main miscalculation that caused the mess was not a political one. It was the belief that the Afghan military could and would defend themselves. They didn't though....at all. They threw down their weapons and equipment (American provided and happily collected by the Taliban) and many hid or left the country.

Did the military drag their feet in prepping? Possible. They may have made some assumptions about the flexibility of the timeline that were wrong.

The military told Biden the Afghans weren’t able to maintain things. Where the military was wrong, is in calculating how quickly the Taliban could take take over.

Biden never had to adhere to the withdrawal date Trump established. His refusal to be flexible put way too many lives in jeopardy and our exit ended up being a three ring circus.

That's probably fair. A number of generals probably pulled the wool over the eyes of politicians as far as the Afghans' willingness and ability to handle their own defense. My brother-in-law spent several years over there during the initial invasion in addition to the years the followed. He's got a lot of crazy stories, but he wasn't surprised how fast they lost control. He said most Afghans training with the military were inept and ill equipped to serve.

Did Trump tell Biden to evacuate during the fighting season and give up the air base? Did Trump tell him to leave in a half-baked manner and then spread lies about the advice he was given? Biden executed Biden’s plan. It failed miserably and demonstrated weakness to the world.

Show me one instance of Trump watching a Chinese spy balloon fly over our country? That never happened. This is the myth that it went undetected under Trump but these people are on it.
Even if it did, nobody even knew.

These excuses are laughable and pathetic. You can look at Soleimani to years of peace to see the difference with this incompetent administration.

That's generous. If Trump was 2% to blame the last House and Senate would have had full investigations. But they knew Biden was brainless and it was a high failure, so they ignored it and pretended it didn't happen.

Two years ago the administration was touting that their last stimulus check lifted 12.4 million people out of poverty. Printing all that money also caused a direct blowback in regards to the record inflation we've seen, leading to that credit card debt.

Shifting blame from Afghanistan is incredibly dishonest. Biden executed Biden’s plan and is 100% responsible for the decision, method, strategy, and the overall failure. He could have held Bagram. He could have been clear with the Taliban. He did nothing. Biden failed.

The flying object thing is so speculative. I find it weird that this admin is very focused on balloons 4 years ago vice now. More worried about CYA than addressing the current issue. I struggle to believe anything released by the Biden Admin just to throw shade on a declared candidate in the upcoming election.

It doesn't surprise me that Trump wanted to withdraw sooner and it could have been as big of a cluster as the one Joe created. Maybe bigger, but we'll never know. Key point here, is that it was Biden who gave the order to withdraw. If he used a plan created under Trump, shame on him, because it was definitely flawed. If the withdrawal plan was created under Joe, it's no better of a look. Joe was bent on meeting a deadline that could have been moved to ensure we protected all of the Afghans that helped us while we were there. Not to mention destroy or render useless a lot of the equipment left behind.
