Also the article and the actual video with Larry Summers say different things. The article says "
Larry Summers, a top economic adviser to former President Obama, blasted the $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus package signed by
President Biden earlier this month as the “least responsible” economic policy in 40 years."
In the video he discusses COVID-19 recovery, fiscal stimulus, the Fed refusing to raise rates, and refers to the years-long situation is "kindling that is now igniting." He then goes on to rip Paul Krugman a new one. Not exactly a "this inflation is the result of ARPA." He is making a fairly broader (and accurate) criticism.
So you'd need to blame a fraction of ARPA for a fraction of the bipartisan stimulus for a fraction of the inflation.
Or as I said a few days ago on here:
So if ARPA was, say, 1/3 of total federal stimulus, and only, say, half of ARPA has been spent to date, so 0.5% of inflation is due to ARPA? Is that what we're saying here?
