Maxwell: Te'o
Bednarik: Te'o

They're presenting the Rimington Trophy before the show. Braxston Cave is a finalist.

Who you got for those awards?

I'd be shocked if Maxwell went to Te'o... but then again I was shocked when Eifert won the Mackey.

I sure hope Te'o wins the Bednarik award though... I'll be surprised if he doesn't, but it's possible Jarvis Jones could get it.

If Barrett Jones doesn't win the Rimington I'm calling conspiracy.

According to that link they'll also hand out the Mackey to Eifert on TV... is that correct? If so, that's cool.

Wow fun fact clicking award links... did you guys know that Pat Fitzgerald was the 2 time defensive player of the year at Northwestern... but then went undrafted in the NFL?

How on earth do you win the Bednarik TWICE and not even get drafted!?

he graduated in 3 years with a 4.0 in accounting. Hes graduating Grad school in December i believe. Thats a crazy class load whether its ND Alabama or some school where kids can barely spell their name. Good for him, Myron Rolle was able to do it as well. Education is what you make of it. He couldve easily taken the SEC approach and hardly show up to class.

Oh yeah...I wasn't saying he didn't deserve it. But like another poster said...A guy like Barkley with 2 classes shoudn't be in the running

With Pat Fitzgerald, all things are possible.

Klein will win the Maxwell IMO, based solely on the "everyone gets a big award" mantra. The Unitas is nice and all, but the Max is Heisman Jr., and I think they will giive him that since he isn't winning the Heisman. Stranger things have happened, but the Heisman will go to JF of course. Manti "already got his two" will be the sentiment.

Te'o, Golic are Academic All-Americans

Te'o, Golic are Academic All-Americans

Te'o, Golic Jr. are academic All-Americans - Notre Dame Football Blog - ESPN

Manti Te'o and Mike Golic Jr. have kept the awards piling up for Notre Dame, as both players were named Thursday to the Capital One Academic All-America first team.

The Irish rank second all time with 227 academic All-Americans, trailing only Nebraska.

Te'o was a second-team academic All-American last season and is the 10th repeat honoree in Notre Dame history, and the first Irish football player to repeat since John Carlson in 2006 and 2007.

Te'o will graduate this month with a degree in design from the College of Arts and Letters. He has a 3.324 GPA. Golic graduated in May with a degree in film, television and theatre and had an overall GPA of 3.428. He is currently enrolled in graduate studies.

Eligible players for the academic All-America team must have completed at least sophomore standing, be a starter or key reserve, own a GPA of 3.3 or greater and be nominated by his sports information director.

Congrats to both of them!
