Apparently RBG went on a trip to Israel with someone who had business before the court the previous year.

Frankly, I dont think the justices can really be bought. They are all bright and interesting folks. If they want money, they can write a book or go on a speaking tour. They have a job for life. The idea that they are corrupt is just silliness out of a Grisham novel

How dare you smear the name of someone who can't defend themselves. 😲

cack treats politics like sports. the Dems are his team, and he roots for them no matter what. and the Republicans are the opposing team who the Dems must defeat. this conflation prevents him from analyzing things objectively.

I noticed how he never posts any negative articles that feature a Dem. I guess even his mouse only scrolls left.

Well I guess there are many people on here who will defend this as acceptable behavior.

Legal recruiting is indeed very lucrative. Perfectly fine. Big firms pay big money to get good talent. Libs tried making this big news last year and it flopped.

My brother in law's sister left her partnership-track position in BigLaw to do legal recruiting. If people are good at it, they get paid well. If a lady in her early thirties from a TTT law school can justify leaving a job paying ~250-300k to do that - imagine what a well connected T14 graduate with a long career can do.

Notice ALL of Cack's "BREAKING STORY" type posts target exclusively one group of SCOTUS justices. Journos and the democratic party are very frustrated that Biden will probably be limited to one SCOTUS pick - and they are throwing shit at the fan in an effort to get a justice to step down.

Should Elena Kagan recuse herself anytime a firm has hired attorneys from her time as Harvard Law School's dean? Because based on his posts, it seems perfectly reasonable to ask that.

We are pissed about the stolen seat. We are pissed at Diane for holding up nominations. We are not pissed that Biden has had only one so far.

Stolen seat? Beg your pardon?

Cry more lib lmao
Lol, I'm not crying, just pissed at the cynical and unprecedented wielding of power by McConnell.

Yes, the Scalia, now Gorsuch seat, was Obamas to fill. He nominated Garland, McConnell made up some bullshit reason to not even allow a hearing.

Then, just to make sure there was no mistaking his true intent, he took up Trump's very late in his term nomination of ACB. He was right to allow votes on ACB. Presidential terms are for 4 years not 3.

So, yeah...stolen seat.

You can't steal a seat. You need the Senate to confirm your pick. If you don't have the Senate, you have to work with them.

The ACB situation is quite easily distinguished. The Republicans were given a Senate majority by the states in 2014. Same in 2018. By giving the GOP the Senate, the American people gave the GOP the final say on federal judges.

The Constitution requires Senate approval. If you cant get Senate approval, that's a personal problem. Not a matter of theft. McConnell's decision was based and also had some pretty good historical precedence. Dude had Obama by the balls, and risked it all that the GOP would take back the White House.

But this idea that the GOP should have rolled over and let Obama replace a legal giant with a squishy lib like Merrick Garland is funny. Mitch did the right thing. And now we have a very good judge occupying that seat.

Got to see Merrick in 2018, dude looked like a broken shell of a man. Kinda tacky of Barack to do that to him. Up there with GWB nominating his old friend.

Lol, you fucking people, I swear...

There is no working with...

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate should not confirm a replacement for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia until after the 2016 election — an historic rebuke of President Obama’s authority and an extraordinary challenge to the practice of considering each nominee on his or her individual merits."

The ACB situation is quite easily distinguished. The Republicans were given a Senate majority by the states in 2014. Same in 2018. By giving the GOP the Senate, the American people gave the GOP the final say on federal judges.
I never said there was anything wrong with the ACB appointment and confirmation. All it proved was that McConnell was full of shit in '16 and his move was about power not principal. The last part bothers me. I think it's bad governance.

What historical precedence? Show me.

Lol...what the fuck kind of argument is this? If Garland sucked, then they should have just voted him down. Go through the process....allow the Senate to give or not give confirmation.

Amazing that you put this on Obama.

I'll gladly play this game.

Holmes Interview. Skip to about minute thirteen. Such an easy distinction and an easy hill to fight on.

See Graham during Kavanaugh's hearings. Graham on SCOTUS Republicans are infinitely more kind to libs than vice versa.. Your people suck at this. They take rules for granted, break them when they convenient (Reid on judges) and complain when rules don't work in their favor.

The democratic party is the ultimate example of "Bitch Made" energy. Inherently soft people willing to play stupid games only to win stupid prizes. McConnell is far from perfect but he was right to tell Barry to go fuck himself if he thought he was going to appoint someone he didn't approve of.

I cant imagine being upset that the senate majority leader gave the American people an opportunity to determine which party decides who gets to choose the open SCOTUS seat when you have divided government.

Susan Collins points to....(lol) Biden himself on this subject. If you lose Collins....

Listen… if someone can point me to a news source showing the liberal judges have done anything like this then great! No problems. Fuck them all. Maybe Fox News can stop jerking off to the Hunter Biden laptop and go out and find that story. As of now these are the stories and the news. Stop being so whiny about the news.

Cack blocks people who point him in that direction. We've already done it. He just doesn't acknowledge it or blocks the posters who do it.

Idk what he is like in person but he's a baby back bitch when it comes to this sorta stuff.

Trying to limit my posting in these threads but this is just straight up false lol.

ACharmin had to post to get Cack to change his mod status so that he could ignore him. That is the baby back bitch stuff. There are other posters who have ignored him or others because they disagree with what they post. I would be curious to see who the most ignored posters are, chances are among the politically active posters it's largely the left leaning ones.

Yes- this is trying to create new rules and standards for one side of the aisle so that the left can try to de-legitimize the court and ignore its rulings. It’s an assault on our democracy and obviously crooked. I am in zero ways alarmed by this, even if Kagan did it.

Who on the other side is doing this? Please provide some info not speculation. I’ve looked. Maybe it’s not me pointing out the stories that triggers you maybe it’s your inability to process how one side is doing this while the other is dosing what they should ethically and morally.
