To be fair, Harris would probably still be playing if he didn't injure his neck. He retired because he didn't want to risk further injuring himself and it being permanent. Neck and spinal injuries need to be treated very carefully.

Saban is just butt hurt Harris advocated for ND to be in over Bama. Saban knows ND was better and more deserving. He can’t say that because he doesn’t want to hurt the fragile Bama fan base and the rest of the pussy fans in the SEC. Good for Harris though.

Harris was a great college player. Bo Scarborough or Trey Sanders would have been better call outs.

1.) What a wild thing to say
2.) Josh Jacobs didn’t have “no stars” lol
Right? Four star recruit and ran for over 5,000 yards in high school. Odd hill to die on.

Harris also stayed at Alabama for four years. Jacobs left early and played three. I'm sure St. Nick appreciated Harris' service, right?

Thing that drives me nuts with a lot of these "stories" is just the objective falsehoods lol.

"This kid had no offers in college" *hop on twitter/247/etc* and you'll see the kid had a bunch of FCS/G5 offers.

Not everyone is Josh Allen or whatever

What an idiotic thing to say. Saban himself said ND should've been in over Bama.

Don’t think he has said that. Would love to be wrong but I’m fairly sure he didn’t say that.

Have you ever heard Saban take a random pointed shot at a former player?

Some hyperbole on Saban's part, but Jacobs' recruitment was weird. He was the leading HS rusher in Oklahoma as a senior yet got almost no attention. He didn't have an offer from OU or OSU or any other major program until VERY late in the recruiting process. Just completely off the radar. Bama discovered him by accident when an assistant went to his school looking at a different player and couldn't believe Jacobs was that good with no major offers at the time. I'm still not sure what happened with Jacobs and why he just wasn't on anyone's radar until the 11th hour. No attitude issues, decent grades, no injury history, nothing. Just slipped through the cracks until Bama discovered him. Sure turned out to be a great player.

In discussing the teams who did or didn't get in, he said there was one team who clearly deserved to be in and got left out, clearly referring to ND. He also said that two G5 teams were too many and seemed to indicate he thought that was the problem with ND not getting in, but he also did only the bare minimum in pushing for Bama to get in. While not directly saying it should've been ND over Bama, he indicated he felt so. As I've pointed out more than once, I and most of my Bama friends thought ND should've gotten in over us. I understand why the CFP committee did it, but I still disagree with them. I think Saban felt the same. I don't think his comment was intended as a shot at Harris... more a shot at recruiting experts.

Yeah, it's bizarre how some of the most vocal advocates for ND getting in over Bama are Bama legacies.

Damien Harris, Mark Ingram, Nick "The Absolutely Fucking Legendary Prick" Saban.

Because you'd think that Bama people would advocate FOR Bama, and not against their interests.

That'd be like if Lou Holtz, Jaylon Smith and Kyren Williams said that ND didn't belong in the CFP.

I get that, but those guys are also now sports pundits and are trying to be honest. I think Harris, Ingram, and Saban all love Alabama, but genuinely felt ND should've been in over us. Heck, I've been vocal about agreeing with that position, and most of my Bama friends thought we didn't really deserve to be in this year.

It is odd to stay that far under the radar. Would be one thing if he was from the Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana or something.

Satan was saying WEEKS before the end on the regular season on that fucked up Game Day show that ND was one of the top 5 teams in the country. And they finished out the remainder of the year with ALL wins by double digits. That's why I don't watch or trust any of those two-faced 'mutha fuckers' anymore ... Satan, Kirk CURBstreit (I hope all his fuckin' dogs die soon), Pat loud-mouth "douche bag" McAfee and former meatchicken Dick-head Howard. FUCK 'EM all!

I don't think anyone of any significance had much doubt about ND's overall team/talent.

The issue ND had was it lost to Miami and TAMU. The best win was against USC. It was an odd conundrum where the team's resume of wins was really not impressive.

Still got shafted and I think would probably beat Miami and maybe Indiana.

Right. It's hard to understand. He wasn't from the middle of nowhere where nobody was looking. He wasn't 5'2" 135. He wasn't a bad student or had a criminal record or attitude issues. He was exactly what you're looking for in pretty much every way and nobody seemed to notice him until about 30 minutes before signing day. Worked out for him in the end.

I have. I also have lived it live. Saban never once said ND should be in over Alabama. He never even inferred it. He said ND was a playoff team sure. He said they should be in instead of the system that got us two G5s. But he never once said at the expense of Alabama. And he also switched up and was less generous to ND around the time of the final rankings only to now butter up Freeman in person. Fuck him. Saban and Herbsteit are integral parts of the media complex that rug pulled us a month ago, and I didn’t just forget it.

Damien Harris and Mark Ingram are not. Because they don’t work for ESPN.

In hindsight maybe Alabama shouldn't have gotten in, but definitely both G5 teams should not have been in. I'm all for throwing them a bone, but one bone is enough. The G5 teams just aren't going to be real competitive and haven't been thusfar. That includes Cincinnati during the 4 team playoff. I think by virtue of getting to the SEC Championship Alabama was okay to be in, but ND should have also been in over a G5. Committee's hands were tied due to stupid regulations.

That's a no brainer. Their last 3 regular season games before getting trounced by UGA in the SEC championship was losing to a lower ranked Sooner team AT HOME, beating a 3-9 FCS Eastern Fuckin' Illinois team AT HOME and then SURVIING in the last minutes at a below .500 Auburn team. Take Miami out of the picture if you want (that's another discussion regarding them being BEHIND by several places in the rankings over the prior weeks), but Bama in over ND was a raw fuckin' deal and ESPN and the CFP Committee fuck-heads should feel ashamed and go straight to hell.

I understand you're frustrated that ND got left out, but getting mad and saying stupid misinformed stuff doesn't help.

From 12/7/25

The ESPN analyst and seven-time national championship coach with LSU and Alabama was asked for his thoughts after the final two at-large spots went to Alabama and Miami, leaving the Fighting Irish out of the Playoff.

“I think the fact of the matter is, all three of those teams should have gotten in and deserve the right to play in the College Football Playoff,” Saban said. “… You’re going to have two teams in the playoff — no disrespect to the Group of 5 — that are nowhere near ranked as highly as some other teams that are much better than them.”

From 12/18/25

On "The Pat McAfee Show" Thursday, Nick Saban, the seven-time national champion turned ESPN College GameDay analyst, questioned the playoff optics and criticized one of the CFP participants.

"Look, would we allow the winner of the AAA Baseball League, the International League, whatever they call it, I don't even know the name of it, would you let them in the World Series playoff? That's the equivalent of what we do when JMU gets into the College Football Playoff, and Notre Dame doesn't."

From 1/20/26

Nick Saban was big on Notre Dame from the very start of the 2025 college football season. From the very first weekend of the year, Saban called Notre Dame a top five team nationally, and stood by that even after it lost at Miami.

On Monday night, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman sat in as a guest analyst on College GameDay, and during the show, Saban took time to compliment Freeman and Notre Dame.

"You deserved to be in the playoffs," Saban said. "That's a playoff team."

Google AI says you don't know what you're talking about. Saban most certainly DID say ND should've gotten in.

Article #1:

““I think the fact of the matter is, all three of those teams should have gotten in and deserve the right to play in the College Football Playoff,” Saban said. “… You’re going to have two teams in the playoff — no disrespect to the Group of 5 — that are nowhere near ranked as highly as some other teams that are much better than them.”

What I said: “He said they should be in instead of the system that got us two G5s.”

Article #2:

Again. What I said: “He said they should be in instead of the system that got us two G5s.”

Article #3

“You deserved to be in the playoffs," Saban said. "That's a playoff team."

Again. What I said: “He said ND was a playoff team sure.”

What you said: “Saban himself said ND should've been in over Bama.”

How bout you try reading yourself buddy. Kick fucking rocks if you think I don’t remember every single thing that was said about our program in November and December while your worthless team slid bye. You’re out of your depth right now.

You said something stupid and totally wrong. Don't get mad at me for pointing it out and backing it up with facts. Get mad at yourself for being wrong. You're mad and lashing out at people who have NOTHING to do with what you're upset about. Grow up.

I must be taking crazy pills. Everything I said is 100% correct and you literally provided the evidence. You’re actually the one with made up stupidity and lashing because I dare spoke against your precious former head coach
