Stats: Tackles Assists Total Sacks FF FR INT

Player A: 247 108 355 11 5 3 1

Player B: 212 225 437 8.5 2 2 7

There you go LAX.

PATRICK PLAYED AT OLE MISS and had NO scholarship offers from any big time schools and he still went on to be recognized as an All American at OLE MISS, under Ed Orgeron of all people!!.

And you are splitting hairs, honestly.

I love Manti but he was NOT elite as a LB for FOUR STRAIGHT YEARS. He wasn't.

Willis was the best LB in the SEC by a wide margin for two solid years, if not three....and he just happens to be the best LB in the NFL, too, by the way.

If you just compare their numbers ALONE, without any postseason honors, then there is literally no way anyone can say that Willis was not equal to or better than Manti. And the list is SUBJECTIVE anyway, based on one man's opinions, but there really is no way that Manti would get on that list with all the extra stuff that is still attached to his name, to this day.

Sorry, but that list is pretty damn legit if you are being objective.

If you look at the stats alone, like you said, Manti has more Total Tackles, and more interceptions. Willis was only dominate for two years. He hardly played as a Frosh and Soph. Manti was essentially a starter for 3 1/2 years. What does being dominate under Ed O have to do with anything? We can all agree is an above average hype man and Defensive Coach, so if anything, that helps Willis.

Was only all-conference two years. Had the same All-American recognition as Manti for two years. Manti also made a 2nd team All-American list as a Soph, Patrick didn't... that year Patrick was only honorable mention for his conference. Manti also had better career stats than Patrick despite playing in a scheme where someone at his position should have worse.

You are so far off base it makes me think you're a relative of Patrick Willis.

If you just compare their numbers ALONE, without any postseason honors, then there is literally no way anyone can say that Willis was not equal to or better than Manti. How dumb is it to say that people shouldn't be evaluated based on their honors and recognition? Manti Te'o makes equal-or-better All-American lists during their careers, and while Patrick only wins best LB award, Manti Te'o won TWO PLAYER OF THE FUCKING YEAR awards, best DPOY, etc. in addition to being named best linebacker.

On numbers, like was pointed out Gown, Manti had 82 more total tackles, 2.5 less sacks, 3 less FF, 1 less FR, 6 more interceptions. So yeah... it's really ,really easy to say that Manti > Patrick on numbers.

Sorry, but that list is pretty damn legit if you are being objective.

No it's not. Go home.

Both were great players in college. Who cares if one made some bozo list and the other didn't? I certainly don't. For every player on the list, there are probably two or three that one could argue should be there instead of them. Just appreciate what each did for your respective school. The bozo's... well, they can kiss it.

Matt Lienart?

Wow

Yeah, Leinart being included as the sole QB for me was a bigger shocker than Manti not being on the list. Leinart had some much friggin' talent around him, a great OL, Cheatey Pete, Reggie Bush, defense, you name it. Those USC teams were stacked, it's no wonder they could plug any QB in there each year and win a ton of games. What have those QBs done at the next level? Nothing, save for a few okay years from Palmer. You could put Tommy Rees behind center for those USC teams and they'd still win a lot of games. Yeah, I said it.

I would have put McCarron, Vince Young, Tebow, hell, a number of different guys on that list before Leinat. Overrated.
