Why would SMU agree to that? And why couldn't ND play at SMU's stadium? They've played at Wake Forest and Duke's little glorified high school stadiums.

Looks like 32k actually! That's a poverty palace. We rarely play in anything less than 40k seating typically (Unless it's a special deal like Fenway 15 years ago against BC). Navy plays in a 34k stadium, which is why we never really play there, we always end up somewhere else like Met Life, Gillette, etc.

We probably have to play in the Duke and Wake Forest stadiums due to the ACC deal or something, but we don't play either team every year either. I assume part of this is tied to demand, there just typically isn't a big demand for either team unless ND is in town. Apparently we crammed 40k into Duke for the last game although the stadium officially only holds 35k. According to this Reddit post the ACC sell out stadiums just 23% of the time on average, but when ND is in town it's 90%:

Assuming that's true re: Duke and Wake Forest, the same ACC deal would apply to SMU.

nothing against you guys but when is Miami going to stop playng in a rental stadium and finally build an on- campus stadium that you can finally call your house

There just isn’t room for it on campus or nearby. The pro stadium in Miami Gardens is nice, parking is easy, easily accessible to fans coming from Palm Beach and Broward county. I get why people make fun of it but it’s honestly a great stadium to watch a game

Would be awesome if we had an on campus stadium but I don’t know where they could build it. Even if they had the room it would completely mess traffic up for everyone in Miami

If they built an on campus stadium they’d have lower attendance. Most the fan base is north of Hard Rock.

That's cause Boob Davie sucked, atmosphere was shit Loudest game I ever was at was Bush Push in '05, no previous game compared and there were some big ones including Nebraska in '01 and some Michigan games. Next loudest was probably OSU in '23.
