Yeah, I am going too. I have other offers that would pay more than my current position, but I cannot get them.

Another thing worth looking into is whether the companies you're looking at would be willing to do the legal dirty work for you. I've had corporate clients hire desirable employees with non-competes and they fight over it with the prior employer while the employee just works in the background. Usually winds up with certain assurances regarding the employee being made by the hiring company (stating that the employee wont be permitted to steal former customers if sales or be involved in manufacturing anything similar in an industrial context). Nobody wants to actually litigate this stuff.

I am pushing that route also.. The industry I am in small and everyone knows each other so people are very careful.

The only time I have seen it litigated is when the hired employee is a high performing sales rep who has taken substantial business from his previous employer, potentially through the use of information acquired from his previous position. I have also seen it deter a hiring team from pursuing certain candidates.

Yeah, my company is national and my territory so they restrict the nation and literally lock me out.. If I moved to California I could get out, but that ain't happening.
You don't have a non-compete radius? That sound like it is automatically unenforceable.

As Jerseyborn is saying, taking confidential information to a different company is always illegal.

The tricky part is relationships. Like when you're in sales or you're brokering deals.

My sister does M&A work, nationally, in a relatively small industry. If she jumped to a competitor, she'd bring all the relationships she's built in her current role. Her current company would be worse off and she wouldn't be easy to replace. She has a noncompete, and while it's not clear how enforceable it is legally (laws are gray in our state, and different here than in the state where her company is based), her employer could probably jam her up for awhile. At which point maybe it's not worth it for the new company to hire her to begin with.

As in college football, the obvious solution is Congress: A federal ban.

No, it is where the company does business. I am under a non-compete and non-solicitation (no worries there).

That is my issue... I purchase my own leads even and brought some in, they still will call it there's because I called them while employed. This non-compete I am under is crazy.. My other ones always had a radius and they rarely cared. These guys? They will fight and do it on how court in Florida. Florida seems to enforce a lot of these.

If you brought them in under their employment, then yes, that's what the non-compete is for. If you went somewhere else and started over with new leads, they can't stop you from doing that. They can't deprive you of a living.

Yes, last one I was under let me keep my leads I paid for if they did not sign or use any services. This one captures them all.

I would talk to AI and then a lawyer for some real legal guidance. In my state a world wide non-compete is almost automatically unenforceable. I don't quite know what you mean by 'purchasing my own leads.' But if you merely announce that you are going to move to Firm B and don't recruit your customers while still employed at Firm A then they should have a hard time preventing your from leaving.

I have my own source for leads. The company doesn’t use them because it is to costly. But I pay for it out of my own pocket. I barely use anything they provide, I just need the insurance and the product. I honestly want to start my own company but they would sue me into oblivion. AI says I am screwed haha

ND has the top 2 teams and the bottom 4 teams in the ACC. Whoever is voting for Stanford and FSU to win the ACC need their vote taken away.

Stanford????

FSU as the mercurial Florida team I somewhat understand (though the theory fails upon inspection). 2026 Stanford winning a conference championship would genuinely shock me.

It's amazing just how much people HATE Lombardi. I mean, I get it...but it's always crazy to me that he's managed to stick around this long.

Stick around where? For some reason I was under the impression Lombardi had been a longtime Belichick aide at the Patriots. But I look at his wikipedia and since 2007 he has spent all of spent three years in the NFL - one as GM of the worst organization in the sport, and two with the Patriots - and most of the rest of the time he was a TV analyst?
What exactly are his qualifications to be GM of a college football program in this day and age? (aside from being an FOB, which I guess is maybe all it takes).
