Can't wait for the Irish to come to Philly...the Linc is great for a game. and a couple brawls in the stands. and throwing batteries at santa claus. and throwing snowballs at jimmy johnson.

Temple is terrible. Watch them slide into the abyss again now that Al Golden is gone.

I don't like it. Nothing against the Owls and what Golden did there, but would rather see a mid major on the schedule with a sexier name than Temple, like Fresno State or Hawaii.

Me too. I can't wait to drive 5 miles to the Linc to watch ND play. Kinda wish they were playin PSU at the Linc, that would get realllllll heated.

Gotta love it!!
Some people are saying we schedule to hard, then we schedule temple. What happens then? People are saying its not enough. (I'm not saying it is the same people either)

I think we schedule too hard, but the Temple name is just awful. I'd prefer Central Florida, San Diego St. or Vanderbuilt.

Agreed. I've enjoyed ripping my friends that are PSU fans every year because they have Temple on their schedule. Now, ND has joined that. I'm all for the schedule getting a little easier but I wish it was a program that has a better reputation than Temple. Is Youngstown St next?

Typical Florida St schedule was: bunny, cream puff, pushover, tough team, and this repeated x2 and went on for decades until they got in the ACC.
A lot of other teams schedule this way also.
Our problem is while we schedule some easy teams, some of our tough games come in threes and fours.
If we just had one tough one a month like many of the top teams have, we would be better off.
Strength of schedule doesn't take this into consideration and I think this is just as important, in not more so.

This is a horrible choice to play them. They could atleast schedule a good team. This a joke towards the football program.

This is an opportunity for ND to make headway into Pennsylvania & New Jersey. This is definitely a good move to help with recruiting.

Anyone who is against this is a lunatic. This gives Notre Dame prime time in eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey (again) and gives the team an easy game. YES, easy games are good. It allows teams to get depth reps and work on things they can't in practice, become crisper in a sense. Notre Dame has earned the right to play a joke some weeks of the season--just like the other teams do.

This is Temple. They were bowl eligible last season, it's not SW Detroit Technical Community College.

Had Al Golden stayed-then yes. Since he's not there, then no thanks. I don't care to watch blowouts against creampuffs. I want to watch us blowout Southern Cal or Meeechigan.

You all are crazy. Temple really. If you want to get to Jersey and that area play Rutgers. They are a better team. and we already play Pitt aren't they in the Penn area

Pitt is Western Penn not Eastern and the Philly area.

Should have been a W. But I digress. You absolutely cannot have and continue to have a murderer's row of teams to compete on the national level. And who is to say that they'll drop off? At any rate it would have been nice to schedule it before Golden left. Now it just looks like cream filling.

Until ND schedules an FCS school, there's no reason to complain about playing against a weak program. You need to look around and notice the way other teams schedule.
Also, I don't understand how some people get so adamant about this when the games will be 3-4 years down the line; who knows what each team will look like?

It is funny that people on here bust on Mich, Ohio state and others for scheduling weak teams. However when ND does it all that goes out the window. I just don't quite understand.

This isn't about playing Temple. It's about getting a victory in the Philadelphia metro area. It's the 5th biggest metro area in the nation. Playing in San Antonio, New York, Chicago and Philadelphia is what a national team does.
