98% chance he'll be committing this weekend and becoming ND's 2028 QB commit, which he'll make public either on Sunday or early next week.

ND didn't get Lawrence or Preyear, so they're not going to screw around here. They think he's a rock solid kid and a quality high floor QB to come in behind a high ceiling QB in Champ Monds. He'll also be a great recruiter for ND that should make it back to campus often and will help the Irish recruit a loaded 2028 class in the New Jersey / New York area. His teammates at Bergen Catholic, the Woodward twins, would great great additions, on top of Tahj Gray at LB, Tahmere Brown at RB, Mekhi Parker at boundary WR, Cam Toomey at Edge and Simon Nuamah at 3-Tech.
Wish they’d stop wasting their time on Alabama and Mississippi kids, but at least they pivoted early enough to get someone they like.

He’s not a jumbo arm project but 62% 2,200 yards 29/3 TD/INT is no joke. For people that were also down on Grubbs, isn’t the increased accuracy exactly what we asked for?

IMO his On3 ranking should hold. 75 - 150 type prospect

There's absolutely nothing to dislike about the tape in regards to natural throwing of the ball. Lightning quick release short intermediate and deep ball. Star gaze all you want. If he had the size he'd be ranked higher. Thought the CJ comp was crazy before watching the tape but honestly Dale might be on to something

I think CJ is a better athlete and will have a better frame but in terms of arm talent, footwork I am not sure what people are down on at all here. I would guess a lot of what the coaches like is mental, which would put him closest to CJ comparison wise. I mean CJ has less raw physical talent than Jarrard, Grubbs and Monds.

Honestly what I was most happy to see on tape was his willingness to stare down the barrel and take a hit while throwing downfield. For a kid going to into his jr year there's nothing at all to dislike. Gotta think he's only going to get better.

If Tagliaferri is just Ian Book with a little bit more size and arm talent, that's a good player to have in the program. He doesn't have to be a future 1st round pick to follow up Teddy Jarrard and Champ Monds. In an NIL world that non-starters are going to pull the transfer lever quickly, I think there is some value in taking a kid that MIGHT be inclined to stick around and wait his turn to compete for an extra year or two.

JMO.

Not in love with him as a stud, but I think you know what his floor is. Hopefully Monds or a 29 QB hits big, but I think ND could be fine if he was the starter.

I almost said this kid is who Ian Book should have been. But some people are defensive of Book. A legitimate starter who probably can be a plus passenger of our team given the roster. Not sure I see him being the driver of a national title team.

You must be a football genius. It’s uncanny how you can make such observations based on high school sophomore highlight film.

Got a state championship ring from coaching and ten years of experience. Want to hop on a zoom and chat? Always open to do so.

I am just saying his film is solid but not elite. Sorry for having an opinion!

I’m more concerned with the size. Says 6’1. Assume 6’0. Obviously can still grow

He stands an obvious inch taller than Marcus Freeman when standing right beside each other in similar footwear. Freeman measured in at 6'0 5/8 at the NFL Combine when he was coming out of school.

6'1-6'1.5 is correct for Tagliaferri. He has a lonnnggg neck and really big feet. Wouldn't be surprised if he's 6'2+ by time he gets to college.

It’ll be 3 years before he ever enrolls in college. You are projecting 7 years out, not considering the kid may physically develop beyond his statue in 10th grade or get any better. Sorry, you sound like a goof … but I didn’t know you coached and won a ring for said coaching. Half this board coached at one time or another. I’m not impressed.

No joke look at his pictures with Denbrock, Freeman, Venables, DeBoer, Bilema. He’s not short. He’s clearly shorter than Gino who is a combine verified 6’4 but I don’t see him and think “short QB”

His frame would be a concern over his height for me

Totally agree. He's 6'1-6'1.5 and will probably be 6'2+ walking on campus. Look at his feet in the picture with Freeman. Dude has boats and he's what? 17?.

I think he is a lot closer to Noah Grubbs than he is to Ian Book. I'm just hoping we save a lot of money with him that we can spread around to the rest of the class.

You know what they say about dudes with big feet…

…they wear big shoes.
