I am listening to it right now and basically what Prister is saying is that, like Wagner, Olu is more of an athlete than a true tackle. He will still need to learn the position and will likely need time before he is ready to play.

He is not talking about the size. It is like all you guys heard was Aamil Wagner and the stopped listening.

This is a constant thing in this sub. Where you guys hear something a reporter says and interpret into the craziest ways. He is not discussing size here so why are you all harping on about how small Wagner was?

What caught my ear more was the Miami thing. But I guess no one wants to talk about that?

Because it's not just about size, it's about upside. Aamil Wagner at his peak was an undrafted tackle who could only play on the right side. Olu's upside projects closer to Ronnie Stanley, a tackle who can play either side and wound up being a top 10 pick and a 12-15 year NFL'er.

There are miles of difference between those two players.

Prister’s final comment was he’d be an excellent get to be fair.

And again, we are talking about as a recruit. Wagner was a top 100 player as a recruit. So again, you guys seem to have completely missed the point being made.

we have receipts. Go back and look at Wagners recruiting profile. Who was he compared to by people in here? Ronnie Stanley.

there is not miles difference, you guys just seem to hear what you want to hear. And now want to rewrite history and ignore who these guys were as recruits. When that is the discussion being had. Is it the best comparison? I don't think so. But the comparison has nothing to do with Wagners size or how the NFL saw him. It is who he was as a recruit.

but no, you all want ro double down and continue to argue rather than admit that you completely missed the point Prister made in his comparison. Or worse, didn't listen to it but still have an opinion on it.

Are you Prister? If so, you suck.

My comp for Wagner was not Stanley. You can strawman me all you want by casting me into the category of "you guys", but I'm right here chatting with you. Address me and the points I'm making. Wagner and Olubobola are not the same caliber of player at the same age and their upside is not the same.

As for Wagner, he was #123 overall by 247, #112 overall in the composite and #71 by On3 / Rivals. He wasn't any kind of consensus Top 100 player. By comparison Olu is #17 overall by 247, #15 overall in the composite and #25 by On3 / Rivals.

Do rankings necessarily matter? No. But I agree with these rankings in this case. Olu is a legitimate top ralent.

I go back and forth on it. ND has no shortage of money floating around but so do plenty of others.
University Business did a ranking a few years back of the US colleges with the most ultra-wealthy alums (>$30 million net worth), ND came in at 16th with just over 2,800. Now granted, most of the 15 ranked ahead of ND are not FBS programs. The only other FBS programs ahead of ND are Stanford, Northwestern, Texas, UCLA, USC and Michigan. And half of those schools don't have the football prestige that ND possesses. So it's basically USC, Michigan and Texas, and the gap isn't really that large. I think USC was sitting at just under 3,600.

So ND can absolutely throw them dolla bills all over and they're far more willing to spend and invest in football than they have at any point in the past 30 years.

Doesnt matter for NIL purposes, but ND absolutely crushes these 3 on a per capita basis. See below in this hastily made chart from chatgpt.
