I don't feel the need to compare the two classes against each other. Super pumped to see how they fit together! Since that is what they are. All of them are teammates on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish! Let's go, baby!! What a two year haul! And 2024-25 fit beautifully also with them. What a great job of roster construction!
Nobody was comparing the classes it was a comparison of the DBs

Sam Young and Mike Rosenthal

Sam Young hit at just the wrong moment. Despite his talent, it seemed (at least from the outside) like he ended up playing too early out of pure need without any real mentors--the OL culture at ND appeared broken. Zach Martin later played a huge part in re-establishing it.

On a talent scale of 1 to 100 where Q is the 100, what is Simien? I just want to get an idea of how excited I should be.
I'll take a stab at this. He's somewhere between 90-100. In terms of overall rating, he's starting higher than Q. He just needs to continue developing physically while simultaneously developing a bloodlust for attacking defenders within his his range of influence.

Literally everything at ND was broken at that time, hence why 2007 happened and Weis was never able to salvage another decent season.

Simien and Olu would be the two highest rated OL prospects ever to commit to ND. Irish Illustrated hasn’t said a word about Simien in two days.

Thomas sort of has an update, but nothing we don’t already know. Staff feels confident. Eric sure does play coy when talking about this one though.

Honestly I think Thomas and Roberts and this entire board have the same amount of ND inside sources

I would bet a large amount of money that Irish Envy has more insight than those two. Hiring someone outside the South Bend area to cover Notre Dame recruiting doesn’t make much sense to me.

Mississippi has turned it around, remarkably. Statistically, at least.
When I lived in New Mexico, they always had a phrase, “thank God for Mississippi and Alabama.” Because it was one of those two states that kept New Mexico from being last place in every educational statistic. But I just looked and New Mexico cannot thank them anymore. New Mexico probably has to be the worst state on the planet in regards to talent and academics. Probably last in both metrics.

Transcript from one of my favorite SNL skits - the 1992 Presidential Debate. Wish I could find the video.

Bill Clinton: Sam, you must have watched too many of my opponent’s TV spots. I’m tired of the Bush campaign trying to portray my home state as some sort of primitive Third World country. The fact is, Arkansas did have a long way to go, but we’ve made progress. When I started as governor,we were fiftieth in adult literacy, and last year, I’m proud to say, we shot ahead of Mississippi. We’re #49, and we’re closing fast on Alabama. Watch out, Alabama – we got your number!

George Bush: Can I say something here? Two years ago, I went on a fishing trip in Arkansas with Baker, Fitzwater, Quayle, myself. We were chased and assaulted by a couple of inbred mountain people. I was sworn to secrecy as to those events, but suffice it to say, they felt that Dan Quayle -and I quote – “sure had a purty mouth.” Now, if that’s the kind of progress Bill Clinton brought to Arkansas.. I don’t think we need it in the White House!

Bill Clinton: That’s not fair. Just this year we passed Mississippi to become 41st in the prevention of rickets.

Ross Perot: Can I jump in here? Why are we talking about Arkansas? Hell, everybody knows that all they got down there is a bunch of ignorant inbred crackerheads! Peckerwoods, catch me? now, can we talk about the deficit? While we’ve been jabbering, our deficit has increased by half a million dollars. That’s enough to buy a still and a new outhouse for every family in Little Rock!

Yeah it's bad here. Maybe we've still got Alabama at least?
