My post was only half serious. Considering Notre Dame already has two very good offensive linemen in the class, I think I’d rather have the linebacker. Especially considering the level of LB recruiting the last two cycles. But I won’t complain if they got another elite offensive lineman.

Historically would agree with you with rare exceptions where sometimes kids will set a commitment date months out because it's their Birthday or they've been adamant that they want to make a decision before their Senior year starts.

In the age of NIL, I'm guessing it's a lot more common. I'd venture to guess that many of these NIL offers come with deadline acceptance dates.
