If KVA comes back next season it’ll be because he never got fully healthy & had an underwhelming season or ND didn’t make or made an early exit in the CFP. If he comes back when expected & picks up where he left off & ND goes deep into the CFP, he would have played enough to get a good draft status.
KVA has never been a full-time LB. Hit n Hustle has reported him and Madden are very tight and starting with him is something he wants to do

Not sure what he's trying to accomplish with that visit. Is he scheduled to official with us?

If somehow he doesn't make it into the class I wouldn't be opposed to taking the money earmarked for his position, as well as the money earmarked for the second LB and combining the funds to lock down one of Henderson or Satele with a substantial offer... Then scouring the country for an underrated, high upside guy that would cost a lot less, in order to round out the class... Ala Jackson Hill.

There are sooooo many linebackers nationally that are underrated and can be developed into good football players. It's a non-premium position these days, but there are a lot of good football players that play LB.

Odd description from Loy:

“I'm told if ND wants him, and he wants to shut it down quickly, they will take him.”

Monetary disagreement?

I think the “if” might have been meant for the middle section. At least it reads logically that way.

Sounds like ND feels they are in a good spot with Henderson/Satele and are ready to pivot if Irvin's not locked in

I read this as ND is mad he did this visit behind their back. If they want to keep him, and he stops the visits, we will take him

It sounds like maybe this escalated more than ND expected. A month ago it was Missouri. Now it’s Michigan State. ND probably thought, whatever we will be able to hold on if we want. Now suddenly it’s A&M and Texas too. And ND is like alright hold on now we’re getting on the phone.

Sounds like someone got in his ear about looking at his options to max his offer. A&M visit canceled because what he wanted was more than what they wanted to offer?

More likely IMO -

1) He silent to MSU and will flip
2) ND is disappointed but said we want you but it’s now or never, not a single visit.

Seems like we're calling him on his bluff. I'm guessing he was told if you want to be in this class the only place you are to visit is ND. The next time you step foot on another campus you are out
Sure sounds like that is the case, Singer stated ND has been in contact with him today and he is still in the class.

Watch him flip on early signing day in an attempt to sabotage our LB recruiting... I'd basically pretend he's not part of the class and get 2-3 other LBs on board so we don't get left holding the bag with only 1 LB in the class.

I could see it as them posturing, I'd set up that back-up plan at my alma mater too (+float A&M), if I was Mr. Irvin.

If he does want to come to ND, it makes ND reaffirm that he's in their class until the end. +ND is on their 3rd LB coach since he committed.
