Hard pass. Old man Finley had terrible squat technique and underperformed

Kaydon was 5 when his Dad went down with the injury. Jermichael said that Kaydon talked to him on the phone after the incident and told him he didn't want him to play football anymore.

All that to say, that kind of semi-traumatic experience and having your Dad have to give up football because of injuries likely gives Kaydon some perspective. The value of the degree may be a significant factor.

Jermichael went back to Texas and got his degree a year ago.

Hopefully that works in our favor but it’s not like it’s us or Mississippi St, he can still get a world class education at Texas if he wants
Agreed. Texas is a highly rated school and there is value in that degree. I don't know if Texas is a school where they play school or not.

I think, in this case, you could be spot on.

Wiltfong, following Finley's OV to Texas, "Feeling good about this Notre Dame pick (prediction)"

ND reporters are confident. A big national reporter is confident.

Reading the tea leaves behind Wiltfong's comment... sounds like Finley may have given a commitment privately to the staff.

I really want to know what was said between Freeman, Pete, and the NIL department. I can almost guarantee they wouldn’t have pulled through on this one last year.

The Texas 247 recruiting site I think had a changeover somewhat recently and isn’t very active is why I say FWIW. I recognize Chip Brown is like their Prister but their board gets a lot less recruiting traffic. Orangebloods on Rivals would be their most popular I believe

A few things;

1) Despite railing on other sites for years for putting out gifs when kids commit, Singer has recently started doing it & saying, how are you guys feeling today. He did it this morning. Followed be….
2) Wiltfong saying he likes his ND pick, followed by…
3) Rumor Finley contacted the staff
4) Texas 247 is where I first met EJ when he first started, and he was a punk then.
5) The 247 article says they have always felt Texas would win out, making it sound like they were close the entire time, when almost every other site (including other Texas sites), have said ND is the clear leader & Texas had to change that on his OV. Texas 247 is completely out of touch if they think Texas would always just pull it out without some change.

Recruiting percentages for Texas targets with known decision dates

Combo of all three ON3 Texas recruiting reporters - Justin Wells, Eric Nahlin & Charlie Williams.

Wells - 48%
Williams - 50%
Nahlin - 40%

"I didn’t hear what I was hoping to after his visit and Notre Dame had renewed confidence just hours after his OV concluded. I would expect Texas to stay in the fight but I lean towards him picking ND."

Yeah something had to change like Merck said I think we are finally giving some NIL money to HS kids but at the same time keeping current guys on the roster happy as well.
