I think it’s pretty obvious, with Osborn and a sudden change in O’Brien, that Notre Dame is fully playing the NIL game now.
This was my thought as well. With all other things being equal, if it was just Osborne I could maybe attribute it to Seider. But with O’Brien also turning a corner it’s the most plausible scenario.

If so, what a turn! It seemed like psu was the leader since the playoffs here. Outstanding either way!

on the Singer and Kelly recruiting podcast on youtube yesterday Singer thinks our irish are in a good spot with him but Kelly said his recruitment is hard read and is worried about Oregon and Clemson wowing him on his visits to those two schools but they also talked about Wiltfong putting in a CB for the irish to land him after Steve had a conversation with him

At this point, ND’s Safety U by a mile. If money is comparable, how do you give up the chance to follow in the most recent footsteps of KHam, X and future AA/NFLer Shuler, not to mention, but I will, the richest safety in the league Hayseed.

Add to that, you’ll get coverage skill training by the current king of corner development, MFMM.

If O’Brien passes on becoming the next KHam which he is perfectly suited for… cuz he chose another school on what can’t be more than a couple hundred K difference, he’s giving up a lot more than that in future earnings.

Then again, the other schools don’t have JaDon standing in his way.

Just have Mickens snag him then throw him in the WR room.

OT7 MVP

Joey O’Brien was the easy choice for On3 MVP on Saturday at OT7. The 6-foot-4, 180-pounder was utterly dominant from his safety spot. O’Brien took over in his team’s first two games, picking off three passes and getting his hands on several more. The first interception came on a Hail Mary attempt before halftime. O’Brien flashed his elite range, climbing the ladder to come down with a leaping interception, before nearly running it back for a pick-six. He made a similar play in his team’s second game, elevating to come down with a very impressive pick on a Landon Duckworth pass. The third pick was a game-winner. O’Brien’s combination of ball skills, coverage instincts, size, and range make him a dominant defender in 7-on-7. While he’s always fared very well in this setting, Saturday was the best we’ve seen him play – which is saying quite a bit.

Joey O’Brien is Notre Dame’s to lose

The two days Joey O’Brien spent in South Bend last week has put the Irish in a good position. The four-star safety out of Glenside (Pa.) La Salle College will visit Clemson and Ohio State this week. The in-state school, Penn State, is high on his list too, but his time with Marcus Freeman, Mike Mickens and getting a deeper feeling for the culture has Notre Dame on the top spot.

Some visit changes.

OSU now longer getting an OV, which makes sense since they didn't make his Top 6. OSU had their visit set for the final OV weekend (June 20), but that is now being swooped up by ND. O'Brien is longer taking that weird midweek visit that he had planned.

I'll add, that ND's biggest perceived threat, PSU, is getting the first OV on May 16-18.
