Would love to see the Chicago kids Blade & Jones be Irish but that said Simote Katoanga is the SDE that really intrigues me the most.

The real coup is if Thomas Davis Jr could get his cousin Aiden Harris to follow him to ND.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he committed this weekend with how quickly the spots could fill up over the next couple weeks.

Final OV. Sounds good. Isn't Tank King committing on the 4th also? Did Finlay say he was committing that day as well? Feels like the staff would want to spread those out. Wonder if any of those plans move if ND can seal the deal with all 3.

Usually I think this type of stuff is sour grapes, but the lack of talk about him despite us supposedly leading for months makes this seem reasonable.

Agreed. ISD also mentioned ND wasn't the only team that had those injury concerns.

Yea, considering how we took guys in the past who had injuries during their Senior seasons as opposed to a Junior year injury.

According to ISD, ND had concerns about his injury history and hadn't been meaningfully pursuing him for a while.
This feels like a BJ Holland move.

Sometimes in recruiting you lose. I would believe this more if it was reported before he committed.

I don't think they're the same. Holland usually drops the "Michigan offer was not committable" BS without providing any supporting information to corroborate.

Here, ISD has said that ND's staff, and several others, have concerns about Blade's medical history, to include a torn ACL his sophomore year. As NDPhilly pointed out, this wasn't a case of Blade fading the Irish down the stretch; they were the perceived leader up through last month - and ND probably would have accepted his commitment, even though they weren't pushing. This, coupled with the already strong DL class, lends credence to what ISD is hearing, IMO.

Could it be bunk? Sure. But I think the ISD staff gets a lot more right than they do wrong, and it just doesn't feel like this one is a Holland-level cope.

Yeah, I view Vallejo and Blade as completely different circumstances. I legitimately feel that we cooled on Blade and just lost out on Vallejo. It happens. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This is exactly the case. Vallejo is a loss and the staff was pushing incredibly hard. The staff slow played Blade because they wanted to see his senior year progression. I believe they would have taken his commitment, but they weren’t pushing like Vallejo and Wilder. Those were flat out losses to good programs
