I also enjoy that we are on one of the hottest recruiting runs I can remember for the Irish and we have no choice but to complain lol
Guess the sense is that Notre Dame can't stay out of its own way at times in recruiting misses.

I know you never leave it open but I'd rather go all in on 2027 and skip 2026 unless we can do an upgrade here. With the portal, not really concerned about getting enough QBs on a ND roster.

Won’t be “processed”

But they are and will continue to monitor/ maybe take another one. Which would make Grubbs leave.

Was always weirded out by them taking Grubbs. Big strong kid. But he’s slow, not exactly what MD wants. Odd fit.

Should we start a profile for this kid?
I'm assuming we could flip him at a snap of our fingers.

Barring something truly unforeseen I don't think there is any way we process him. Gino identified him early and hasn't waivered at all since then.

This isn't a situation where we were hoping he'd grow a few inches, he already has a college frame.

Pretty sure there were recent reports that ND was evaluating 2026 QB prospects, making camp invitations, and thinking about taking another.

They aren't going to process him. You might not like his tape from the spring game this year but I'm pretty sure one of the leaders of the class and QB commit isn't going to be processed when there is no 5 star dying to come here

Yes I am skeptic we had a layup 5 star QB in the bag signed sealed and delivered….okay to whatever the rest means.

Don't question the fans, they always know best. Just look at how IE went all in on Allar remember? If only he were our starting QB right guys?

I think he has to actually BEGIN struggling before he can continue to do so...

He was literally at Notre Dame almost all month working with Gino and then for his visit but yeah they are processing him

Here's what has me worried about him more than anything.

High school QBs should be accurate in high school because as the competition grows the accuracy naturally dips. He only completed 57.7% of his passes last year. Whether it's coaching or not, that is quite bad IMO

Yeah ideally you want someone around 65% or better for comps here is how the top 5 QB's in the 2026 class faired last year
Faizon Brandon 77%
Dia Bell 70%
Keisean Henderson 49%
Jared Curtis 70%
Ryder Lyons 68%

IIRC, Carson Beck completed around 50% of his passes in his senior year of High School. I went and checked his Maxpreps profile and they had him at 49%.

Probably depends on the style of offense their high school team is running. If the QB is chucking the ball deep on half his throws or are most of the throws short routes.

Agreed

He’s not a national recruit for lack of ability. Just depends on playing the style they want

Brandon Wimbush completed like 99% of his HS passes
Numbers can be misleading
(I am still skeptical of Grubbs in general for the record).

It goes both ways... Brandon Wimbush had a very high completion percentage in HS I think (nearly 80% if I remember correctly??).

Sometimes you get a Josh Allen, a dude who gets more accurate with more time. Sometimes you get a Wimbush, who isn't as accurate as you'd hope, and gets the yips as things devolve.

they run a lot of deep choice stuff. High variance play..low completion but big explosive plays
