2025 rankings are in their infancy. Mid February is the first real current evaluation. Certainly a take.

Ferocious disposition.

haven't seen his film but if Texas and Oregon offered then he must be better than his 3 star ranking suggests.

Given how much impact polynesian players have in NCAA and NFL football, I'd have a whole office of my football operation aimed at scouting Hawaii, Samoa et al. I must be wrong about the following, but I swear those guys are made of heavier-than-normal body parts --- collisions look like freight train wrecks. Coach Kelly said that Manti had the "heaviest hands" he'd ever seen hitting the equipment in field drills. ... so, YES!!! Draft all you can!!!
I'm a US expat living in Australia (Old Man Alan) where rugby is similar to US football in popularity. Polynesians and Aboriginals dominate the sport in both the skill and the smash-mouth positions. Huge hits abound with no helmets or heavy pads in sight (lots of injuries, including concussions).

Kia had early offers from Oregon, Texas, and USC. The former two are going to end up with top 5 classes which tells you what they thought of him.

Kind of suffered the same ratings fate as Dixon where they committed very early and were zero drama despite being pursued by big time schools.

I've always liked Toma. I thought that he gave us everything he had to give and more.

And I loved it one practice day when Kelly was walking around looking Head-Coach-like at everyone, and Toma told him, don't sweat it, Coach; I'm a Natural. Even Kelly smiled at that. (Robbie was a senior, by the way.)

Facts…not to mention these kids out in Hawaii don’t really do the camp circuit, for obvious logistical reasons. And let’s face it these recruiting services use camps as the end all be all for rankings lol.

You are not 100% wrong. And some recruiting services factor in too much of the physical attributes even though the clips we see on the field don’t always necessarily match. Prime example is the O lineman Ben Nichols that we are recruiting right now is only a three star but if you look at his offer list, it says something different.

“He's gotten bigger. He's gotten stronger. He's really shined in his opportunity. This spring's going to be huge for him, not only for this year, but just his future. There are going to be a lot of guys sitting in front of him when they all get back healthy, but that doesn't mean he can't compete, he can't contribute in some aspect. But really, we're looking at what's the future going to look like for him as well. We're going to have a lot of really good players that we're going to have to replace. Can he be that next guy? Early signs say if he continues to develop, he's got the ability to do that."
