Well...ISD posted an update on Ogboko's recruitment and it's not the news we wanted to hear.

It sounds like he's sticking with his commitment to UGA.

I mean...what the hell? We've been hearing nothing but smoke for months on this guy and it goes nowhere. Same with Beasley and Nelson. Why is it when ND has a commit and there's smoke about him possibly flipping, it is basically certain to happen, but when there's smoke about ND possibly flipping a commit, it fizzles?

Heard they're keeping Porkey....afraid of having to do too much conditioning to be on the field alot since the offense isn't very good

The staff doesn't have a good read on some of these recruitments

Beasley's recruitment was over a while ago and Nelson just wants to stay home. Nebraska could go 3-9 and he'd still be committed.

Or maybe Ogboko just wants to stick at UGA. Hes been quoted as not giving a damn about competition and numbers.

Also Georgia is back to back National Champions and may win a third. Really hard to pass that up.

Notre Dame fizzling on the field likely played a role in some of this.

See bowl projections thread. Kids don’t dream of playing in the pop tarts bowl.
Tennessee is fizzling worse. They're 7-4 and all four of their losses aren't even close. They've lost the last 2 games to Missouri and Georgia by a combine score of 74-17.

Seems like Beasley is content with Pop Tarts or Camping World aspirations, because that's what Tennessee has been for most of the last 20 years.

Win big games and they will come.
What big games did Nebraska or Tennessee win this year?
We often face an uphill battle in luring kids away from Home State U. Winning big games helps, I guess. But only to a point. Some kids were raised on these schools and have a lot of people in their ears about them from the start.

It’s home. If you want to get these guys away from home, you have to offer them something more.

If ND was playoff bound I can assure you, some of these guys would be calling.

To Lucky’s point, winning big games will lure some kids away from home. Why go to ND when you can stay home and play for the same bowl?

Kinda like the young men that say ND was my favorite growing up but we can’t land them.

I have been part of this site for a while now and following 247 and the other recruiting sites and this was supposed to be the year. They talked about the 2024 class and proclaimed this class was going to be the one that was outstanding. This class is very special! We have they best talented Qb we have taken in years, the best WR, and loading up on more running backs. A very good line backer and defensive lineman.

We have some other talent coming in as well. I am not sure their rankings will equal their talent IMO. I think some of the guys should be ranked higher. But it is what it is.

Probably a lot of rumors swirling about Golden moving on too, even if for good reasons.

Yes, though, you can't lose to Ohio State and Louisville in prime time then lose to a lame duck Clemson team and expect a guy on the fence like this to flip from a team that hasn't lost in two years.

Pretty sure they've done this every year back to the 2021 class. Fact is it probably is the best class top to bottom that they've had in a decade, but still feels like there's a couple holes or spots not as elite as they should be.

Hugely disappointed by this outcome with Ogboko. I wonder if it's truly final, or a case of UGA telling him they're done taking defensive linemen only to add more later on.

You mean Georgia wouldn't be honest with a kid?

This seems odd given how thick therw smoke was billowing. Something tells me this isn't over, especially considering we're a well away from coach home visits.
