Depth chart plan:

FS: Shuler - Johnson
SS: Stroman/Talich

Possible Depth chart actual?

FS: Johnson - Shuler
SS: Shuler - Stroman/Talich

Tae will definitely be in the mix somehow, some way. That’s what the next 2-3 weeks are for.
It was mentioned in one article that he was going to get some special teams reps.

It’s a long season I could see us going 10 deep at DB I’m pretty sure you’ll see games where coaches might give one of the starters a break and get the young guys more reps.

Good - Stroman is shockingly slow and may be fine against most competition bc of his experience but just isn’t athletic enough as we saw and doesn’t have the instincts to make up for it. He needs to be phased out when Shuler is back

In a pre-portal era, Talich i would have seen as a key depth piece through graduation, but not a starter. We’ll see if he sticks around.

If Tae isn’t playing safety on Sundays than we failed him development wise. He has all the traits you want athletically. He just looks different out there.

Like CJ
It is clear that Tae's ceiling should have been given more #1 reps.
I know they wanted Stroman to help replace Xs loss of leadership, but this ain't it

What’s more baffling is if they thought Tae wasn’t ready, Shuler should have been playing to the field then, not Stroman.

I said in camp it should be Shuler/Johnson and Talich/Stroman. Instead it’s somehow Shuler and Johnson/Stroman/Talich even though Johnson is nothing like the other two in player type.

With Johnson being our future FS and having 3 years left after this year and Shuler having 2 years left I know some might be against it but I'd move 1 of Blair or O'brien to WR. You have an elite QB you need to surround him with some stud WR's. Fields is gone after this year and I think once again WR will be a question mark next year. Greathouse has been non existent this year, Faison is hit or miss, I think Gilbert has potential and Burress as well. We are really gonna be missing that big body WR's 6'5 or taller.

Not a bad idea. It would obviously help Carr to have a tall WR next season.

The funniest thing about this dumb post is that Tae would probably be the best candidate for WR

Are you drinking? Tae would probably be our best safety through 2 games and showing great potential.
That's not what I'm saying at all.

I'm saying that those others mentioned need to be on defense also. And of everyone mentioned, Tae would be the same wrecker on offense. (Where he shouldn't be)

Schools like Tennessee were pushing hard for him at wr

Cannot say enough how proud of this young man I am. Came from arguably not the best school in Fort Wayne, put in the work to be able to commit, and is now getting a chance to play. Hope he keeps it up, and makes his mark on the program.
Right!? If he's good with it, this guy can stand as a great example of what's possible if you get opportunities. ND found him a path to academic acceptance and he met the challenge. Now he is grabbing the opportunity with both hands and showing his quality. So fucking awesome.

edit - I know I'm saying, with more words, the same thing as BK, but this shit gets me excited.
