Rated as a Flex but offered by Freeman so this is a DE / LB offer.

Can't wait for the stories and how they handle his brother's ND recruitment.

Slow trigger today

Did you expect them to offer sooner? I'm kinda surprised they offered at all. Reading between the lines, it seems like there were some hurt feelings.

Making a quick return for the BBQ after visiting in June.

I was wondering how Zak getting passed on would effect this but so far looks like Zak's recruitment was handled properly or in a fashion the Zinters found acceptable.

If they take Zak in '20, he might be your RG next year... or maybe this year?

No reason Zak couldn't transfer later on . . . BUT that seems unlikely.

2020 was an odd year for the OL. Didn't take the normal amount. Felt like they could've taken one more and Zak fit that. Hindsight is 20/20.

Singer put in a On3 prediction.

I get the sense Zinter gave them a could be sooner than later type vibe

Singer also said they see him as having some positional flex as well. Possibly as an H back but right now he is a linebacker

If you can't have Tackett Curtis, he's a good 2nd LB take w/ flexibility and you still go after Ausberry / M'Pemba

Reminds me of Nick Herbig and some of the other Wiscy LB’s who came before him, that play so well on the edge. I would assume his ability to rush the passer and play on the edge is part of the eval here.

I am not impressed with his ranking. What's the deal?

Rivals has him as a 4* #214 overall and #11 Athlete. Not a Samuel M'Pemba, but ...

He is a good athlete but still need to see his film of him playing in space and coverage.

I encourage people to watch his junior year highlights. They sold me when originally I was a bit of a doubter. Didn't think he could move that well.

Same. I was a doubter until I watched his Junior film on January 31st and posted in this thread. Very underrated, IMO. A natural ability to rush the passer from the edge. Also, looks/plays much longer than I originally thought he was.

Straight line speed is solid, but was concerned with his ability to change direction.

I can say this because I’m from Massachusetts but with any recruit around here I worry about the level of competition he’s playing and what you see in those highlights. Texas this ain’t.

That said Lawrence Central Catholic was ranked #2 in the state last year, and his brother started for Michigan as a sophomore. So maybe the kid is legit.
