Dont think this is a NIL thing

Think its a winning thing

Was the same hurdle as during his recruitment

That would be kind of pathetic. It's not like he's transferring from Vanderbilt. Kevin Durant behavior.

My guess is he wants to be coached by the best, and he no longer sees Alabama as the best without Saban and Co.

Big bro is in Indy. Just move the family to a nice place on Wawasee so they’re in between their two boys!

Yeah I could definitely see that playing into his decision too

On my original point I just meant specifically with regards to ND's chances

Don't think ND would ultimately be able to snag him simply by out NIL'ing OSU or UGA

I think he prioritizes pretty high playing for what he perceives to be a legit natty contender

I still think ultimately that's where a lot of these really elite guys land at moreso than strictly NIL

They prioritize playing for what they perceive to be the elite winners and also the programs that produce the high draft picks

Obviously there's exceptions to this but usually can weed those out if they're listing too many of the red flag programs like Oregon, Miami, etc

I just never got huge NIL-hungry vibes from Downs Camp

I tend to agree, at least for enough of the best players who take a longer view of their career than simply "what I can get paid right now in NIL."
Which is why this exodus from Bama seems crazy to me.
Without Saban, yeah, they'll probably take a step back. They won't always be ranked #1. TBH they took a step back this year, on offense at least. But, as a baseline, the recruited talent alone starts them as one of the top three or so programs in the country, and while yes they lost Saban they hired a very very good coach to replace him. I'd still bet alot of vbucks, if vbucks were still a thing, that they're in the playoffs next year. UNLESS a bunch of their five-stars transfer to chase... I don't know what... at schools that would love to stand in Bama's shoes even post-Saban.

Damn. They’d really better beat Michigan at this point.

Goddamn , they are absolutely stacked for next year . Four 5-star receivers, best RB tandem in the country, stud tight end. And just added a generational talent at safety to an already elite D. If they get improved play at QB , I don’t see anyone touching them in ‘24.

GATTACA!

It's about to get gross

There Oline and QB tho could be a mess.. a lot like there bowl game against Mizzou… D will be legit tho.. however season could be a mess if they don’t get those two figured out.. plus all those transfers now and weak leadership… see USC.. could be a MESS

OSU has a lot riding on Will Howard, Ryan Day, and now Bill O’Brien. Interesting collection of characters.

Though, I will say. That after all my criticism about their approach to the QB position in the portal. If there is an unspoken salary cap and they used it on all these other places to bring guys back and in, versus on the QB, maybe they got it right.
