I’m getting there too. If MF can’t do it, nobody not named Meyer could ever do it at ND. I’ll just follow the guys we have and watch the games. I’ll likely give it through ‘24.

I do think MF is going to be a better HC than DC. Why? I don’t really know. I hope the ‘24 class will be legendary. Maybe false sense of hope.

Agree, i love that it seems like Freeman has no ego. I think he is a much better developer of people than X's and O's or Scheme/adjustments. If he can keep adding to the talent of coaches and players we could have something special

If the absolute worst case, disaster scenario happens (meaning Keeley and Bowen both flip, Ausberry and Minich commit, and ND can't close on a 2nd RB, QB, or 4th WR), this class finishes with 275.51 points......which is a slightly higher score than last years #7 class, which was the highest ND class in a decade. And that's assuming the most pessimistic outcome.

Wingo is probably just '24's version of Keeley

Beginning to think Kelly finally became resigned to fact ND wasn't going to get these types of guys and just said "F it, I'm golfing. You guys can handle the Micah Bells of the world without me"

And fact MF isn't even closing out guys like Hanifin, J Moore, etc

Outside of maybe Snead and Junior last year and Gray this year I'm not really being blown away here

And him and Rees getting played so hard by Dante Moores camp just speaks to their general lack of experience

Everything thats happened since Okie St's last possession of the first half is giving off strong "in over his head" vibes

Like someone else mentioned, Finkell could sign this class

ND's defense was 11th per this metric. Cincinnati was 2nd in 2020. He is an elite defensive mind.

PFF had us at 43 for Defense last year. That matches the eye test much more than 11th. Do people really think we had the 11th best defense in the country. I struggle with that.

I also think it's clear Luke was the mastermind leading the D at Cincy.

I really like freeman as HC and what potential he has there. I did not like him as DC last year. I can go in as much detail as you want around personnel choices, scheme, lack of adjustments, etc. Our D dominated terrible offenses and did bad vs average to good offenses.

Sure, but we would have failed to land the game changing DB and DE that was committed, espcially DE. Also we failed 2 years in a row at most important position (QB). If Buchner isn't all that this year, we're in trouble 22-24.

He can't just "barely" recruit better than kelly to go where we need ND to go. There's a huge difference between top 3 recruiting and 6-15

IF ND goes 11-1 with a CFP appearance or major bowl win recruiting at ND under freeman will skyrocket even more

10-2 has to be the bar in 2022. ND can build on that.

That's assuming the absolute worst case scenario. Which is not going to happen, IMO. Also how nuts do you gotta be to create a new account to come on here and pretend someone else agrees with you lol

ND's BCR last year was 82%. If we signed a class of 25 instead of 22 we would have finished with the #5 class.

82% BCR was higher than every team outside of Bama last year. That includes UGA and OSU. Our BCR this year would be 89% even without Bowen and Keeley.

You guys need to relax. At the end of the day, recruiting is in a great place. Only a QB will truly get us over the NC hump.

He didn't have time to settle in and get things established the way he wanted. I'm not going to render an opinion on being over is head until he has a chance to get his feet wet. Since your judging him by the OkS game, I assume you think he'll be fine if he opens with a win against OSU?

Like someone else mentioned, Finkell could sign this class - If he's at OSU sure, but if Finkell is at ND I bet he doesn't pull in the talent he would at OSU given he's got NIL money, less admission restrictions and players don't have to take challenging course work. So far he's not killing it at UC.
