Flat out stinks. He’s got talent but he’s a long way from putting it together

He’s only 19 but yeah he sucks right now. He reminds me a lot of Michigan qb’s like Navarre.

He is true Freshman, we are scared to start 3rd year QBs here. I'm guessing he will be better over the next couple seasons

Looks like things worked out getting Steve in this class. Benched in the Peach Bowl after a head scratcher INT.

That first big completion was a complete fluke that tipped off defender’s hand. Dart actually living up to hype whereas Allar looks like a typical PSU QB…mid.

This seems to be the way for the Big Ten right now.

Michigan does same (they just win the two big game they play instead of losing them). The CFP system is *supposed* to encourage playing a big non-conference game to boost your SOS - playing us will help Ohio State stay in the hunt if they lose to Michigan - but if you're content to go 10-2 and make an NY6, there's really no downside to scheduling soft.

Of course it does not help that the Big Ten's middle class (MSU, Wiscy, Iowa, Nebraska) has fallen off the last few years. The conference schedule just isn't very hard.
Good time to bump our convo @stlnd01!

Penn St continually failing upwards into NY6 games cannot continue heading into the 12 team playoff. It’s getting ridiculous.

Big 10 has been a joke the past few years. The 12 team playoff will probably be 2/3 SEC and Big 10 based on the teams in each conference starting next year. But Penn St being in the playoff this year would have been a sham

So PSU and OSU not exactly looking great playing someone. Michigan might be in trouble. They may have played even less than we thought.

I also believe Kiffen is a top 5 coach and does more with less, consistently, than anyone else I can think of. Would take at ND in a heartbeat.

Drew Allar has consistently looked like trash when I've seen him play this year. Shocked he threw 23 tds and only 1 int. I get he's got a big arm, but he did very little against the tough teams they played

This is the type of crap you face when the first 9 games of your schedule is little sisters of the poor.

Penn State for years has been scheduling South East Midwestern Hogwarts Polytechnic School for the Blind relations of George Washington.

He throws so inaccurately that no one can catch the ball on either team...

In all seriousness, I think he hesitates to throw into tight windows so he holds the ball too long. The ball doesn't go anywhere near where a defender is, thus not at risk for interceptions. But not throwing the football to move it downfield is also not a great way to play QB

Not fond of the coach either.....
You have good instincts. He's a bum. One thing he's managed to do well is hire OC and DC fairly well. I think he's done so again this carousel, but it all boils down to how he does in the big games against the big two and to this point he's been crap.

He's really good six days a week and pretty good on the one day that matters most. Plain and simple. They extended him on the thought he might leave.

Franklin talks a bunch of shit........ only highlight of his coaching career. I live in Nashville and folks thought he hung the moon. When actually, it was his assistants and THEIR recruiting while other SEC teams on their schedule were basically in a rebuilding mode. Go back and look at the SEC teams when he was Vandy coach.

Hey, timing is everything, right?

As far as his time at Penn State, I think he rode the Saquan Barkley train as far as it could go but apart from that he's been a big bronze medal.

And now they're expanding, which probably drops him into the 5-7th range into Europa League (for all you soccer fans) of December bowls forever.
