I do not expect Walker Howard to sign a letter of intent with Ed Orgeron on the early signing day.

Orgeron may well become subject to the Gene Chizik syndrome.

People and the yapping apes at ESPN didn't see that coming either.

Chumps be chumps.

Hot unsubstantiated rumour of the day is that Arch Manning is interested in LSU but is waiting to see what happens after Ed O is gone. If they hire Joe Brady or even Lane it's possible that LSU could land Arch.

In which case, maybe that increases the odds of Howard looking elsewhere.

I’d be surprised if the Mannings liked the thought of Lane, I’d think they have NFL development in their main considerations

Sure but the Manning family probably thinks they have the best idea on how to do that.

Honestly, Lane seems like a fit. It's not like he's going to be worried about Arch Manning's effect on locker room culture. And a lot of the biggest programs would probably balk at derailing everything for a single player.

Considering the last 3 HC (2 of which had questionable talent as HC) won a NC and the fact LSU has always recruited itself, that’s a no-brainer IMO. Ole Miss will never win a NC any time soon and havent sniffed one since the 60s

Yeah 5 star WRs and CBs don’t grow on trees. But they do at LSU.

Is LSU even that big of an upgrade over Ole Miss?

Yes. Closer to more talent, more tradition, likely more money for staff higher expectations, etc. A good year for Ole Miss fans (8-4) gets you on the hot seat at LSU.

That would be nice if it played out that way.

Doesn't seem like such a great selling point.

But if idiots like Les Miles & Crazy Ed can win a NC there then that’s a great selling point. LSU is set up to be an annual CFP contender they just need the right HC.

Manning is class of 2023 right? Howard is class of 22 and has a verbal with LSU but he'd back out because of Manning who is a year younger?

Doesn't sound very "chesty" and is an eventual transfer waiting to happen if that's the case.

Without question. Their per capita Division I HS talent is up there with Florida and they don't have anyone else that can compete with them in terms of size. Tech and Tulane are small fries.

Zero question LSU is the better job.

Time to make a power move by BK and Rees. Look, LSU wants me but I want ND. So should Walker, let’s ride!

So how does the staff navigate the waters with Steven Angeli already in the fold? Gotta think that SA is aware and probably not feeling good about ND still entertaining another QB.

If the team hands the reins to Buchner then there's a chance that Pyne and Clark are gone come the spring. Angeli may well be the backup next year.

Supposedly Rees already told him that ND was looking for 2 QBs.

With the new transfer rules, taking 2 QBs each cycle may become the norm. 1 high-ceiling guy + 1 high-floor guy is probably the best way to ensure you don't get burned by players leaving for playing time elsewhere.
