Hasn't he only sat out 8 regular season games?
He last played against Louisville, Sept. 28, so basically 11 months from then to our first game next year. But I'd assume he'll do spring ball if he intends to play next season. That should get him back in shape, yeah?

In the era of the transfer portal, I am gobsmacked, nay, flabbergasted, at who still remains in this photograph.
Culture matters, I think, more than anything when it comes to retention. Doesn’t matter if it’s CFB or in the labor market. If you like where you work and who you work with…you’re more likely to stick around.

Don’t think that would be the case (in regard to those in this photo) without our current leadership within the program.

Jason might be my favorite player on the team. I lived a town over from him in RI and I've heard good things from people at his high school. RKG. I was delighted with Freeman's presser comments about him and hope he turns into a real force. A development we didn't know about because of media access, but it was worth the wait.

I don't think it can be overstated how huge a development this would be. If Onye plays anything close to how it's being reported, that DL is going to be an absolute buzzsaw.

What's the local opinion on Kwity Paye?

"Notre Dame fans could also see Onye in the blue and gold next fall if all goes as planned.

“If they want me to, yeah, I would,” Onye said. “I would love to be here. I love the guys here. I love the young guys coming in, the old guys who are going to be here still. I would love to be here. This place is like a second home to me.”

Interesting. I thought Onye was gone for sure after this season. Would be big for him and the program to get him back.

Right - this is his 5th year and he's already redshirted. Don't see how that's possible. Would be great, though if Onye, Hughes, Hinish all return.

Only way it’s possible is if he gets a waiver from NCAA he played in 5 games last year
