eh...we've never been in the lead for this guy so its hard to be optimistic. Teams like Mich and PSU can spin the "off year because of COVID" story and talk about all their past successes and most recruits will buy it.

And doesn't ND also have "several great RBs on roster". Isn't Edwards #4 at ND next fall initially? Tyree and Kyren playing early is a selling point but only if you're selling a time share.

NDs roster is no better than UGAs. Kyren could go pro after next year. He'd be #2 at worst by his 2nd year on the team.

UM and PSU could use Covid excuse, but, they've have some real smoke with coaching hot seats (including possible assistants).

ND is easily more stable than PSU and UM. ND could use Covid as a recruiting angle too..."We had to deal with the virus...look at what we did"...

Bingo. Anyone going to UM over ND at this point is just a diehard UM fan and/or UM is in your backyard. Zero other reason.

UM has been lukewarm for years. And with Hairball looking more likely to leave than stay, I cannot imagine UM being this way for several years to come.

Recruits aren’t going to be impressed by the careers of CJ Prosise, Josh Adams, or Dexter Williams. We need a bona fide star in the league to improve our RB recruiting. Kyren could be one, but that’s still a few years away.

On the flip side, Chase Claypool should be a huge boon to WR recruiting. He’s a potentially elite NFL talent the likes of which we haven’t seen at a skill position since...Tim Brown? I’ve hated the Steelers most of my life, but I’m rooting for them to go on a deep run this year to build Chase’s profile. We need more kids to grow up wanting to be like Chase Claypool, not Michael Thomas or Julio Jones.

ND's RB situation should be very appealing. You get to run behind an ELITE offensive line. And we already play 3 guys, and then after next year you have the opportunity to be a workhorse if you want.

Bama and Georgia have put RBs in the NFL for years by splitting up carries and keeping them fresh. The PT argument for RBs I don't think holds the same water as the one for QBs or WRs because as a RB you actually want to reduce the wear on your tires before jumping to the NFL.

Barring injury, I'd be completely shocked if he's back in '22. He's got everything you want in an RB barring elite speed, but he is plenty fast enough. Pass pro, solid receiver, patient and balanced runner, powerful.

Don't think it's that often you have an NFL ready RB that checks that many boxes. Normally they just have elite traits that you would be willing to look the other way on some of their lacking skill sets but he's a bonafide every down RB.

Count me as surprised if we have Kyren in '22 as well. But does anyone think we have C'bo back for a 5th year? I could see a lot of benefit of having a guy like him on the roster. 5th year running backs are uncommon for a reason, though.

He looked pretty fast against Clemson. I’m not arguing, but I like game speed (a la Jerry Rice) vs track speed. Although, I’d like both

If ND is holding steady at 2 active RB offers, they must like their chances to get a commitment. If Edwards wasn't focusing on his recruitment until after his season, the staff should know if its worth the wait over the next few weeks. Cardwell is supposedly going to visit, scUM should lose another game or two....early signing day is 3 weeks away.

The biggest detriment to Kyren's NFL draft position is his size, not his speed. I think he will be a 3-4th rounder as coordinators will look at him in a two back system sharing the load.

I think that also means he will be a draft steal for whomever takes him, because I think he can be a 1000+ yard back given his talents. And coordinators will love his blocking abilities which will keep him on the field.

Might have been said, but both Kyren and C’Bo lit it up as seniors. Kyren had 2000 yds rushing nearly 1000 yds receiving and 40 tds. C’Bo had 2300+ yds and 35 tds as a senior.
Diggs has 600 yds rushing very little receiving yds and a handful of tds. These are not P5 numbers. Kind of feels like Diggs is the rebound gf after Shipley dumped ND.
