Looks like McNulty and Rees might be going after him soon. I've had him as the #1 TE-only in '21 for a while. Yes, I'd take Trigg and Bowers first on flexibility and Trigg being a WR to me.

Got a lot of recent follows. He had 900+ yards receiving in both his So & Jr years. 54/929/17.2/11TD = Jr

What makes him special is watch his feet on the sidelines and endzone and his hands. He has that Eifert/Claypool gene to get make a tough catch AND get a foot down. Plus, though he doesn't look like an athlete, he's VERY good after the catch. They even use him at RB. Had 30 car / 236 yd / 2 TD on the ground. He's even 3/3 & 2 TD's passing.

I think the film and the offers say it all. 247 has him at #30 and a 3*/86. lulz

Hope this goes somewhere, I'd take him over Fidone and I REALLY like Fidone

Here's his recently released Top 7.

So the Crus is eliminating: ASU, TA&M, and the Vols right away?

How many TE's is ND looking to take in this class? Is ND going after him because Berrong may decommit?

That's a good question. Who knows how many they are really going after.

They didn't offer any more TE's after Berrong committed until they went after Bowers in Oct and then Michael Trigg and Thomas Fidone in Jan. In Bowers & Trigg's cases, ND can recruit them at both TE & DE but in Fidone's case, he's a Flex TE. So they are either going after two or they are recruiting over Berrong with Fidone. Berrong had an "ok" season last fall 43/500/4 stat line. He may have been full grown at 6-3--6-4 as a soph. Is ND rethinking this like they did Crippen? We also know there was some weirdness going on during the Long to McNulty transition period. Finally there were some "All good" pieces released but the kind of Twitter action that followed is real smoke.

Thanks for the insight. Do you think Fidone is better than Berrong?

They know how to use 6-5/Flex/TE/WR's as well as anyone.

I agree with you. Look at a kid like Lenzy, he redshirted, started to heat up last year, and I think this year he could break out. Miles Boykin & Chase Clayppol had a real nice senior year. I'd like to see more Golden Tate's and Will Fuller's where they are studs back-back years. ND has produced so many good TE's here at ND and onto the NFL.

I think Kevin Austin could heat up this year and break out and Jordan Johnson can do some good things for us if he finds PT this year.

With Bowers done...

Please offer this kid and stay on Fidone as a Claypool/Boykin/Samardzija WR.
