I said this before and will say it again whoever QB 2 is better be ready in predicting we will have our back up start 2-3 games this year Leonard puts his body into harm way to much

This might be a blessing in disguise. Get the other quarterbacks motivated and competing for time. I expect Steve to play very well forcing Riley to earn the starting job when he gets back.

It creates a REAL quarterback competition in the fall without breaking any promises or stepping on any toes.

This isn't a blessing. We have a new OC, new QB, all new WRs and WR coach. This is a big deal so I'm not going to down play it, and we play in arguably the toughest place in America in week 1. Steve isn't it IMO, but I hope I'm wrong.

This isn't a big deal, it's a stress fracture surgery. He will be able to do full workouts in 8 weeks. Everyone is overreacting.

IMO, it's a net positive for the future but not gonna lie... felt this year could be special if Leonard and the WR room hit on all cylinders.

Was hoping for a Kizer-'15 kinda year from Leonard but this is the kind of setback that puts order to your QB room for years to come.

Out most of spring with stress fracture that required surgery.

I’m not sure how some of you equate this as not a big deal. You have very limited time to practice with your team. Running 7 vs 7 in the summer isn’t practicing football. He’ll have only a few weeks in fall camp to practice and play football with a new team and new coach.

ND needs to break that rule and have the QB and receiving room practicing an hour or 2 every day for the next 6 months. F the rules.

This is a huge set back. It usually takes 1 year for a transfer QB to get acclimated to a new team, and this guy won't even have spring practice. Just a fall camp to get ready for the season.

So ND is paying for him to come here and have surgeries and rehab

Don’t you do a physical before taking transfers?

If Angeli transferred after the bowl game ND would be screwed. I haven't hopped on the Leonard train yet. It's an unfortunate situation for Leonard, but ND upgraded at OC and WR and whoever starts will get an opportunity to succeed.

Until CJ wins the job and the other two transfer

Most stress fractures that require surgery take a 8 week recovery time. We do not need to freak out
I think you are correct in regards to the injury itself. What hurts is the offense is growing around Angeli and not getting the opportunity to build rapport & familiarity w/ the new guy.

It's potentially a major issue because

1) ND's inexperienced Oline in 2024, specifically at tackle

2) Riley's elusiveness
