I've gone back and forth on it. ND's S&C program could do wonders for his strength and help him put on the weight he desperately needs. But then he'd be missing out on a year of game action/development. Really I just want to see ND land another DB in this class and don't know who else that could be besides Evans (assuming we miss on Greedy).
kind of where I am. I think we need another db. Would rather it be a 27 kid but if no one emerges, talk to phoenix in november

Vaughn could end up back in the 5⭐ club as well he had no business going from #19 down into the 300s anyway! No top 20 player in any class isn't making the the top 150 in another class.

"Ace" Hasan is about 3-4 spots from being a composite 5⭐ and could very well play himself into the top 35, especially after showing much improved speed and quickness this Spring (Regional 100m Champ).

I'm giving my eval of the players. Notice I had Lathan Whisenton in the 5 star club, but he's nowhere near that on the sevices. I also had JD Price as a 5 star coming out and Whisenton gives me a lot Price vibes, with homerun speed.

I don't see 5 Star traits out of Vaungh simply because of his frame. Great football player and I expect him to play early and be impactful and I'll love to having him on the roster, but he's a 40-60 type recruit for me. I think he hits his potential fairly early. Where as someone like Abraham Sesay gives you similar pass rush skills and instinct, with the long frame and "Go-Go Gadget" arm length to go with it. He's probably 3 years away from being the nightmare that I expect him to become, but that upside is higher than Vaughn's, IMO.

Oh yeah, I gotcha the problem is a lot of people like 5⭐ measurables whereas I like the 5⭐ skills. I remember a guy like Dwight Freeney that was 6'0 225 as a SR and was a complete terror of the edge as a "rush" LB and I told my older brother with his speed and two unstoppable moves he could be a HoF with 100+ sacks in the NFL as a specialist after seeing him in a camp. I think he was about 6'1 250 as a Pro but those skills can usually trump those measurables.

I think Vaughn's 5⭐ traits are his bend, quickness off the ball and his speed. What he has more importantly is something you can't teach and that's an unstoppable motor! Give me an Edge with a motor who doesn't stop on the play and it can be a game changer. I don't mind that 40-60 slot you have for him I have him in the 45-54 range at the moment.

With Henderson likely off the board today, the guy I'd like to see the staff take a run at is Jalaythan Mayfield out of Lincolnton, North Carolina. The kid has offers from everyone and is an absolute baller. Fantastic ILB. 4.0 student as well. Top 100'ish talent on my board.

The 2027 class has, so far, been a really good class. Love what they did at DE, CB, OT, and QB. The next few weeks are critical though.

The cycle is far from over, but it feels like they’ve left some meat on the bone at some positions. Not a huge fan of where they are at linebacker, especially after a so-so 2026 group. Zay Gamble and David Folorunsho are elite additions at their positions, but not much to say after them. Would’ve liked to see the staff be more aggressive with Parks.

Here’s to hoping the staff can rally. I have loads of faith in how they can manage a roster.

If they close on JJ Jr, Parks, and Roman then I’m going to have a rough time complaining about how the class finishes - they’d have 12 top 150 commits, which bumps up to 14 if you were to include Vaughn and Monds.

Objectively, there would be very little to complain about if they land those 3. Circle back on, or flip a couple other quality players between now and the end of the cycle to round out the class and they have another top 5 group that met all their needs and added some star power at the positions that matter the most.

Elite QB prospect. Check. Possible #1 WR prospect. Check. Elite LT prospect. Check. Elite edge rushers. Check. Elite interior DL prospects. Check. Lock down CB prospect. Check.

At LB, I think they need more than Roman. Especially after last year. The WR adds are pretty good, but would’ve been nice to see them add a third. Not really sure they cancelled Gayle’s visit and punted on the position.

Has there been any intel at all on Parks going to Oregon or not?
He is still expected to visit unless something changes today. Segun Alexander is still expected for his OV this weekend. I'll be pleasantly surprised to get Parks at this point.

How could they have been any more aggressive than they already were? They have been after Parks for multiple years. Just because a player does not pick a school, does not mean the school didn't try as hard as they could.

Christian ISD is unsure if Parks is visiting or not. Seems ISD doesn't have a read on Parks at this time.

Agreed. I guess the only way they could've been more aggressive is giving him some kind of ultimatum or deadline to commit, which is a dangerous proposition.

Michigan’s class will be interesting to track. They don’t land half of these if ND pushes 100%

QB Lopati
WR Burrell
OL Esposito
DT Muhammad
DE Emedobi
DE Brewer
CB Harrington

I will always hate scUM…but EJ not being there anymore definitely lessened my abhorrence for them a scosche.

Good for a 260 kid…but “I deserve it” is an objectively hilarious tagline.

I would have wanted ND to take him if it wasn’t for Vaughn.
