If this happens that’s going to be a hell of a class.
I did a bit of digging, and here's the CB "ROI" for the CBs made by people at On3 over the last few recruiting classes:
2024 -
83% (86% without decommits), 42 total CBs to ND, 35 correct 1 decommit (Owen Wafle), and 6 incorrect (Emmett Mosley, Kaleb Beasley, Justin Scott, Jerod Smith, Caleb Brewer, Davis Andrews)
2025 -
82% (96% without decommits) 49 Total CBs to ND, 40 correct, 7 eventual decommits (J. Thurman, D. Anderson, Ivan Taylor - interestingly, no CBs to ND for Deuce Knight at On3), and 2 incorrect (Derek Meadows and Bear Bachmeier)
2026 -
93% 69 total CBs to ND, 64 correct, 5 incorrect (Trent Mosely, Simote Katoanga, Braeden Jones, Connor Salmin, & Evan Jacobson)
Over those three classes:
Mike Singer has made 61 CBs (average
119 days before commitment!)
2024 - 23 CBs (16 correct, 7 incorrect) - 70%
2025 - 15 CBs (10 correct, 3 decommits, 2 incorrect) - 67% (87% initially committed)
2026 - 21 CBs (16 correct, 5 incorrect) - 76%
*2027 - 2 CB (2 correct) - 100% (this does not include guys who haven't committed.
Kyle Kelly (average
42 days before commitment)
2024-2026 - 12 CBs (11 correct, 1 decommit) - 92% (100% initially committed)
Steve Wiltfong (average
26 days before commitment - 20 days if you take out Richie Flanigan...)
2024-2027 - 33 CBs (33 correct) - 100%
Everyone else (average
13 days before commitment)
2024-2027 - 62 CBs (59 correct, 3 decommitments) - 95%
Conclusion (based on last few years):
- Singer is pretty good, and getting better (and also puts out more early CBs than anyone)
- Kelly is more conservative, but a virtual slam dunk so far
- Wiltfong knows when things are done
- non-ND guys show defeat or follow Wiltfong
