Even if Mensah gets blocked in the interim certainly sounds like he'll be able to go to Miami at some point in the next few months. If it goes the Demond Williams route and he takes his name out, where does UM go then? Cant imagine they willingly hand it to Emory Williams

No chance he'll take his name out, IMO. Miami is beyond desperate for a QB and they'd keep upping their offer if Williams even thought about taking his name out. Their current QB depth chart is hot garbage and Cristobal and his staff know that. The only way he's not at Miami is if there is a ruling or the ACC Commissioner steps in.

Pretty funny seeing Thamel and such report on this with zero clue what any of this legal stuff means. The stuff coming from Dukes side today is completely counter to what was reported prior on the TRO. They are just running with whatever the Miami or Duke side says and don’t have the ability to discern otherwise. The Mensah lawyer literally said it was denied, when it was in fact granted. Common mixup lol:

Mandel knows fuck all about CFB after covering it for 20 years. I'd trust him on legal issues about as much as I would our cat.

That was a fake account
Ok but why *wouldn't* Toney be shopping himself around? He could make a very much lot of money, unless Miami has him locked in with an even tighter contract than Mensah's.

Same reason why all high end, productive players rarely leave the top teams. Teams are normally pretty good at retaining their proven talent. I’m sure renegotiating Toney’s NIL money is/was near the top of the list of things to do for Miami this off-season.

Would love to know the conversation between Mensah's agent/attorney and Miami before it was announced he was leaving Duke.

With the new rules, I believe everyone is subject to the entry deadlines regardless of graduation status.

So do the rules just not matter anymore?
I think im confused on this, I've seen multiple people state that the grad transfers are not eligible to enter at any time anymore but according to the NCAAs website, they still can enter at any time, so I dont get it

He submitted his paperwork on Friday night and school has two business days to process it and enter it into the database.

Agreed, but apparently Mike Frank and Singer said that ND wasn't interested. That makes no sense to me.

You would almost certainly lose Greathouse and/or Graham over it

Even if you think Barkate is better than them, don’t think ND is in that business. Barkate was also rumored to have already turned us down.

You only give 6 WRs meaningful reps in any given season (barring several long term injuries). ND really likes some of their existing WRs, as well as the pair they brought in during the transfer window. In terms of guys they expect to compete for that top 6 in 2026 you have...

Jordan Faison (returning)
Jaden Greathouse (returning)
Micah Gilbert (returning)
Elijah Buress (returning)
Kaydon Finley (freshman)
Quincy Porter (portal addition)
Mylan Graham (portal addition)

As is ND is likely squeezing 1-2 talented guys and giving them much less playing time than they want / need. Adding another player to that mix wouldn't help at all. I didn't even mention Cam Williams or Logan Saldate that will also try to compete for playing time as well.
