Wow, congratulations I guess?
McKinney still has a semester at Colorado. Are all our transfers enrolled and on campus?
Not sure he’s looking to transfer just to sit behind a guy he knows will start in front of him. He could do that in Bloomington.Alberto Mendoza anyone?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but he is doing it all online and living in South Bend, right?McKinney still has a semester at Colorado.
Yes believe he's working out with the team but not able to practiceSomeone correct me if I'm wrong, but he is doing it all online and living in South Bend, right?
COVID shifted a lot of schools to offer in class or virtual classroomWait, so is it true that these players don't even have to go to class anymore. Carson Beck hasn't been in a class in two years. How does that work? How can you be enrolled and eligible to play if you're not in any classes??
You have to be a student (maybe I should say pupil) in the school that you play for. There’s no requirement for progress towards graduation for those who already have degrees. Most schools do not require in person attendance any more.Wait, so is it true that these players don't even have to be enrolled in classes? Agree with all of thisYou have to be a student (maybe I should say pupil) in the school that you play for. There’s no requirement for progress towards graduation for those who already have degrees. Most schools do not require in person attendance any more.
Pretty sure we’ve had many grad transfers players who just take a few classes and drop out of school as soon as they’re eligibility expires.
When did he enroll at Miami? Entering the fall semester, he could blow off every one of those courses knowing he’s done. He’s out of eligibility so flunking all those courses would have no effect on his Spring eligibility.Agree with all of this
NCAA players are no longer ---"student athletes." Those days are long gone
Ultimately I think this is why Admissions agreed to the monumental change of accepting Undergrad transfers that will have no shot of graduating in 4 years. Because they are basically employees, there’s no “moral obligation” of ensuring every player leaves with a degree.Agree with all of this

The vast majority of players we recruit out of high school still stay at least three years and earn their degree. The handful of undergrad transfers we've taken in the past have stuck for multiple years and graduated, too. Grad transfers are a different situation, which is fine and fair.Maybe the ND pitch should now be $4 mill. for 40 quarters (or 10 games) since many don't stay past 1 year.

The new situation is the sophomore/junior inbound transfer, and we shall see what happens with them. I like to think they're in it for multiple years, but time will tell. Personally I think the education/degree is an enormous asset for Notre Dame when it comes to recruiting and retention, and we de-emphasize it at our own peril. But then no one ever gave me $1 million when I was a sophomore in college.
So they picked up another kicker as well?

6-Star Kicker Micah Drescher commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame flips a Michigan commitment to get the best kicker in the country for the 2026 class.sports.yahoo.com
Not sure what a 6 star means... although based on previous history with top ranked kickers, it probably means he wont pan out
“Micah is a phenomenal high school kicking and punting prospect. He is a great looking athlete with one of the absolute strongest legs in America. Micah does an excellent job on the field goal. He hits a pure, accurate ball off the ground and has easily has 55+ yard range. His kickoffs are strong, D1 ready. Micah’s best ball measures 70+ yards, with 4.25+ hang time. Also a very talented punter. Micah punts for a nice combination of distance and hang time. A competitor who thrives under pressure. I look forward to seeing what the future holds. Outstanding prospect.“
Wow, we have a kicker!! But based on the Offense, Defense and Coaching style.....Real good chance is stats look like this 2/2 on FG and 95/96 on extra points.
I think this quote is from his kicking coach who has a history of over hyping his customers![]()
