The problem other programs will bump into trying to get Lea is he has at his alma mater. I don't know his heart so maybe he would leave, but it won't be easy.

He has to know down deep that it’s very very unlikely. He will win a natty at Vanderbilt. However, he has turned that place into a very, very respectable program.

He has been at ND, he was very successful here, we have money, and we have a much better chance at winning a natty. So if for whatever reason, Freeman decided it was time to leave this would be my first phone call.

His defenses are legit.

MSU is like the opposite of the Dantonio era. Who would've thought their biggest weaknesses would be a soft OLine and a secondary that can't tackle?

Meanwhile their QB is lighting it up and their receivers are great athletes.

Kirby has sort of lost his edge. Their recruiting remains good but I'm not sure where all the talent is going. Their defense is pretty soft and not good at anything in particular and Kirby continues almost as a matter of policy to ignore offensive recruiting other than TEs and guys who sound like bit characters on Dawson's Creek (Cash Jones, Oscar Delp, Lawson Luckie, etc.). Far cry from the Big Red Murder Machine he had rolling for a few years there.
