Imo, the transfer window should be after the national championship game and before spring practice.

Yeah, from a purely football standpoint this is the best option. However, they do still have to take classes and the semester schedule doesn’t line up with that timeline.

Great point. I overlooked the school part of college football.

Let's eliminate the layoff between the end of season and playoff start and huge gaps between rounds.
That might end the season earlier for the portal between semesters.

This, give the playoff teams two weeks. Then start the playoffs.

Right. Even making the current week 0 schedule a full on football weekend and make it week 1 would help that timeline.

I love that week 1 is currently Labor Dat weekend, but with the new CFP making the season so long, something has to give.

That was my thought. Texas Tech isn't the 12th best team in the country. They did beat an okay Utah team, but they've played no one else with a pulse. Their third opponent, Oregon State, is 0-4 and the only close loss was to Fresno State.

Who are the wealthiest potential donors to the program and how much are they willing to spend? That will ultimately tell you how well we can "contend."
