Bring in a one year transfer QB and it takes them a few games to get rolling. Play a youngster already in the system, it'll take them a few games to get up to speed. I don't see a significant difference.

BTW-I'd take the DT.

It’s not ND (they actually get money back), it’s collectives. And, It’s not 40m, it’s 40m and growing each year. And most “rich” people aren’t careless with their money.

I thought it was a legit question.

1/2 of it is ND. $20 million in revenue sharing.

Hypothetical:

If you had to choose between a stud QB or two stud DTs, which would you take and why?
Two stud DTs.
I'd also convince Leonard to file an injunction against the ncaa to play a 5th year and hire a small army of attorneys to make it happen.
Tbh, Leonard returning would be best case scenario and easily a better option than other hypotheticals being tossed out considering his fit in both personality and playing style for Denbrock's offense.

I’ll take the QB every day, all the time. It obviously has to be the right guy but that position is the game changer.

I'm curious, how long are these "salaries" sustainable? If ND and other big schools are spending $20M-$40M per year, how long can they keep that up?

The term ROI gets thrown out. But, the ROI isn't monetary, as far as I know, the ROI is performance, wins, NCs, prestige, etc. Do these collectives and "friends of the program" get kick backs from the program if they win, kids if they get drafted?

I know there's people out there with stupid money, but raising $40M a year just to be competitive seems like a tall task for an extended period of time.
That’s what I can’t figure out and no one has explained to me about NIL. This all seems like a massive bubble.

Crazy hypothetical... but what if Quinn Ewers and Texas beat tosu in the semis and play ND in the title game? A crazy story if he were to beat his former team, lead Texas to the title then leave for the team they play in the championship. It has been spoken...so let it be done haha.

They aren’t going to be able too.

Just listened to the latest II podcast:

-Brice thinks ND will wind up between 5-7 players from the portal. Prister and Sampsons think it'll be more than 7.
-Brice said ND's NIL payroll for this year's team is half or less than half of Ohio State's and Oregon's, and a little more than half of Georgia's.

We're talking alot about additions through the portal. What about subtractions? I assume we'll lose some depth guys but is there any smoke about players in our two-deep who might be getting big offers?

I don’t buy that I think ND will spend where they need to fill holes but at the same time schools like Ohio State, Oregon and Georgia will have way make guys transferring out

I get what you’re saying but if you were to offer me Klubnik or two stud dts I’m taking Klubnik. The dts will win you a game, a stud qb will win you a championship.
As it stands though, who is going to be the WRs for Klubnik (Hypothetical)?? I get we have talent coming in but they are somewhat unproven so far.

I hear you.

I guess I’d say I’m not seeing Klubnik as being anywhere near the level of say a Lawerence or Burrow (both of whom were throwing to some pretty good receivers) or a Cam Newton who could just take over a game.
