IB put out an intel piece of their board regarding the latest recruiting tidbits. It was lengthy post moreso about defensive recruiting.

I can't quite summarize it, as it is a massive drop, but there is a lot of buzz and positive directions in many, many recruitments. Driskell does believe that, if he was making predictions right now he'd feel good about picking Notre Dame:

Marco Jones, LB
Josiah Kia, LB
Cree Thomas, CB
Dallas Golden, CB
Ivan Taylor, S
Ethan Long, S

He added that there are a few other players that could be added to that group, but doesn't feel certain that at this moment. CBs like Devin Williams, Mark Zackery, and a couple of linebacker targets.

They’re in on plenty of top 100 guys and the same amount of top 250 guys as they have been throughout the Freeman era. It’s also 14 months from signing day. I know your schtick is to be the site’s eeyore but it’s not warranted here just because they took a 3 star

Look at Rivals. ND now has 8 commits and Rivals puts them third right now behind UGA and Alabama. On that note, what I just said also applies. They're going to reshuffle this stuff multiple times between now and when the 2025 class signs in a year.

Do you even read up on these players and look at the highlights yourself, or just go by what 247 says?

247. Doesn’t bother to do any research besides the number next the kids name Just ignore. You’ll be better for it.

Only 15 of the top 100 players have committed so far and 7 of those are committed to Georgia and Alabama. If you’re expecting to recruit at that level you’ll always be disappointed.

Deuce Knight is also #65 in the composite which is more accurate in my opinion.

I am by no means Freeman's biggest fan and I never could quite bring myself to finish the application to the Marcus Freeman fan club.

However, he has the exact recruiting strategy that I would want him to have.

Not quite sure any of this handwringing would be taking place if we beat Clemson last week.

A simple fix is to bring in the right offensive coordinator. We saw how much of an impact that can make from 2016-2017. Hopefully Freeman gets the right guy and this black hole of pessimism goes away in relatively short order.

But I also agree with your point wholeheartedly. You have to fill the class.

I was a big MF and still am hopeful but I think it’s a little more than just bringing in the right OC. IMO

I agree. He’s a few marbles short on gameday. At this point it’s rather obvious. Though that is something he could develop.
