Even though I'm higher on ND than 90% of posters here, I certainly won't be taking that bet.Currently we’re +160 on DraftKings to make the playoffs, which equates to ~41% odds. Good for 10th best. Vegas believes in us somewhat at least 🤷♂️
North Carolina State to name one of them. They are sneaky good. They play sound fundamental football too. They could beat uswe not only have to win however, but win like we're awakened beasts. How REALLY confident are any of us that we're just going to start a run of pushing opponents around and stomping to victory? There are several teams on our schedule that look like proud fighting teams to me. This does not look like a ten game cakewalk.
Ohhh it's real ......very real. 🤣How the fuck are we doing this right now? Feels like a bad dream.
I get ND had a great season last year (sans the NIU loss) but to continue looking back and judging this team by it needs to stop. Golden, Watts, Kiser, Mills & Cross aren’t walking through that door anytime soon. The chance they can now reel off ten wins is slim. I could be wrong but I believe the 10 remaining games are going to be tougher competition than last season post NIU. If the defense actually played shittier after game one w/ two weeks to get right, WTH they gonna do moving forward on shorter turnaround?Currently we’re +160 on DraftKings to make the playoffs, which equates to ~41% odds. Good for 10th best. Vegas believes in us somewhat at least 🤷♂️
I’m more encouraged that Miami can be legit after the USF beat down but it’s too early to sell me on aTm. A good defense will shut them down from what I’ve seen. Maybe their OL is the best in the nation & they can shut down all the other front 7s they face, but I’m betting against that. Their D reportedly knew what play Carr was running and still gave up 33 points. Not exactly championship material.ND is 0-2 and has lost by a total of 3 points to 2 top 10 teams. I can see how the media sees the team differently than we do.
We're officially in the upside down. National media pundits are complementing and lobbying for an 0-2 ND team to be ranked. Strange new world we live in.
lol.
I mean, it almost certainly will. We started at #5This year could erase all the years we could argue ND was not overrated.
Two score from being ranked number 5? We are still top 25 level team. We need to beat uo on Purdue like we did last year. Ass should pull a Costanza and so the opposite of what his instincts are telling him. If we win handily like we did last year we will move up inside the top 20 and then the march is on to get up to #11 or better. An ND team on a 10 game winning streak gets in bottom line. Just like after the NIU game we needed to win out. Makes every game a big game for us this year. Our offense is just getting warmed up. Our defense needs to get out of the freezer and wake up against Purdue. Hopefully Ass gets his head out of his Ash and learns to coach again. The D needs to show up. Someone needs to step up to a leadership role.It is a joke we are ranked.
Well that usc loss made fat Charlie a very rich and lazy man.I'm sorry, but at some point the results on the field have to matter. I stopped being impressed with "quality losses" 10 years ago.
If we win out we will be ranked around 8 or 9.We theoretically could be the best 2 loss team in the country at the end of the season. Finishing top 10 is still not out of the question.
Ok we get it. You’re smart.Even though I'm higher on ND than 90% of posters here, I certainly won't be taking that bet.
Let's assume, for the sake of simple illustration, that 10-2 ND is in, 9-3 ND is out, and ND has an 80% chance of victory in each game going forward. That would mean ND has a 10.7% chance (80% to the 10th power) of making the playoffs.
Same scenario but ND has a 90% chance of winning each game: 34.9 % chance of making the playoffs.
Going undeafeated, even over a ten game span, is absurdly hard.
If Miami beats FSU they will be solidly inside the top 5. A&M has a brutal schedule to navigate. Wishing them and Elko the best. If they win the SEC and Miami wins the ACC imagine how those losses would look now?! Add to which we started a zero experience QB and if we look considerably better at the end of the season we are well inside the top 10. Just need to win every week. Zero margin for error.I’m more encouraged that Miami can be legit after the USF beat down but it’s too early to sell me on aTm. A good defense will shut them down from what I’ve seen. It’s not just that we lost, it’s that we have a bottom tier defense. You can’t be winless and be in the low 80s on one side of the ball and be ranked IMO.Two score from being ranked number 5?
