That is actually one of the few legit boards Reddit has.

It’s not a smack board, and everyone is very self-deprecating of their own program.

Shit posters don’t last too long.
I wouldn't say everyone is self-depracating, but yes, that's how you get upvoted: be funny or say your teams sucks. While I appreciate the conviviality, it seems rather contrived, and it can get tiresome when fans of every school repeat, "Blowing every big game--that's so us," ad nauseum.

I agree it is embarrassing even being ranked, but because it is infront of usc I'll allow it

We all knew that our two hardest games would be Miami followed closely by A&M. So far, that seems to be the case. And, we lost to them by a combined 4 points.

While I understand most of you are down on the team, especially the defense, the fact we are ranked at 0-2, it still gives us an outside chance to make the playoff. There is so much parity in CFB these days, I'd be surprised if we rattle off 10 straight wins and are still held out of the playoffs.

Can we put together 10 wins in a row, that's the bigger issue? But, I choose to be the eternal optimist.

And, those saying it's impossible, had Bowen knocked down that pass or the holding been called, and we won, would you feel like this was a crazy post?

Anybody who takes quality of competition and margin of victory into consideration and isn't an ND bedwetter/hater knows rating ND as low as #24 is silly.

I'm sorry, but at some point the results on the field have to matter. I stopped being impressed with "quality losses" 10 years ago.

Also, with our defense we are not a top 25 team at the moment. You cannot be that egregiously bad on side of the ball and be winless and still feel being ranked is justified.

Ball is still in our court, apparently. I’m not sure how either outside of the Nation’s love to stroke Freeman.

Yeah, the potential narrative by season’s end is easy to imagine: ND is on a 10 game winning streak and CJ and Love are rolling. If the defense was a bit better ND could be a top contender. But wait now, the defense has been looking better over the last 10, and ND only lost those first 2 games by 4 points combined. Maybe we should see how they look in the playoff over some generic Big10 team?

Of course this relies on ND actually winning the games, looking the part, and Miami and TAMU holding up well enough. All of that coming true is not likely, but also basically happened last year.

ND is 0-2 and has lost by a total of 3 points to 2 top 10 teams. I can see how the media sees the team differently than we do.
