The year Rees took over the offense he went to the playoff with 3 star Ian Book,
a glorified TE at WR - Javon McKinley
a Northwestern transfer - Benny Sko
and a converted QB - Avery Davis

Love those guys for their heart, but that's certainly not a world beater group.

Parker got the ACC all time passing leader, and a group of very talented but young WRs, not to mention a pretty good OL (Tackles for sure), some pretty damn good TEs, and a ridiculous RB room. It was also one of the most experienced offensive groups in college football this year from a snap perspective because a lot of them had been playing since freshmen. There was no excuse producing just 5 TDs in from OSU->Duke->Louisiville.
That was BK.
Rees was a passenger.

All 3 of those guys would have been the best WR on our roster this year. One of them made an NFL roster. Which one of our WRs from this past year is going to end up on an NFL roster.

Benny Sko has 30 yards receiving this year. He's not getting a 2nd contract.
Unless he has further injury issues, Greathouse will easily be better when his career is over, he already tied Sko's TDs as a freshman. Rico could end up being better too, but he'll be gone. Tyree's speed will get him looks in the NFL, he had more yards than Sko too this year. Faison is just getting started, jury is still out there. Your point is invalid.

Youre comparing guys who were freshman this year who are not mentally or physically developed for the college game yet who may or may not be NFL caliber players to a guy who was a grad student with experience and proven production and was one year away from making an NFL roster. If you cant see thats a ridiculous comparison then no point in further conversation.

Plus like 98% of current college WRs will never accumulate 30 NFL yds receiving in their lifetime so that doesnt make your argument any more true either.

Those are who we had to work with after a number of guys got injured. You're the one that started with the comparison, so that's on you. Merriweather is the only one I'd say he's a clear cut negative right now against those 2020 guys because he doesn't seem to have the heart those guys have and hasn't shown much in the two years he was here. He's shown some glimpses, but no consistency.

Ulukinatme loves Rees more than I love my wife so no point debating him on anything that questions Rees's magnificence.
Ya'll were laughin' in September. Georgia ain't laughin' tonight. That offense is rollin', made Georgia look stupid in the 4th quarter. The armchair QBs lose again.

I mean, you started talking about how Parker inherited such incredible offensive talent and listed the WR that Rees inherited implying he had less to work with at the position than Parker, so not really.
Bottom line is our WR corps was historically bad an inexperienced for any team with championship aspirations this year, regardless of QB, OC or any other variables. I think we can agree on that?
I would have loved to have had the 3 guys you mentioned this year!

Milroe and the Bama offense showed huge improvement as the year went on. How much of that is Tommy vs how much is Saban we will never know, but if it was primarily Tommy then he did a great job this year. Milroe is a weapon like we do not have though too.

So now we're giving Parker a pass because of Tommy Rees?

You should know by now everything is always Rees fault, even after he's gone  Nevermind the fact Alabama actually got pretty good offensively as the season went on.

I wouldn't say it's Rees' fault, but we spent most of 2023 with what? 3-4 warm bodies at receiver? Most of which were freshmen, walk-ons or converted RB's.

In this day and age, you ain't winning shit with that.

The portal existed last year, and no one stopped them from recruiting more incoming freshman either.

There were four scholarship WRs plus Faison in this years freshman class. How many would you have had them take?

All three of those guys would be our #1 guy this year if healthy. And the offensive line was significantly better in 2020. Not really comparable offenses imo, 2020 was a definitive playoff team.

Wrong. Tommy/Bama was struggling until Saban stepped in. Also, this is Sabans offense not Tommy's.
