I’ve been wondering all week where our boy BobbyMac has been because this is his time to shine with an elite recruiter taking over as HC.

I’ve convinced myself he’s gone silent because ND finally realized his talents and is finalizing a contract for him to run the recruiting department.

This Gold Standard from Singer has a lot of info in one place.

https://notredame.rivals.com/news/th...-recruiting-49

A possible new name to note would be TX DE Micheal Ibukun-Okeyode. Elston was expected to be in Texas this week to check on him but he recently committed to TCU after being previously committed to SMU. So, we’ll have to see if Elston still pursues him I guess.

Too bad DJ wesolak got in trouble. This could have been his spot. Also odd ND couldn't get Lucas or Kanu to commit

Dis he mention any new WR names to know or any traction with other WR targets?

The only name that came up in the past few weeks was Wesley Grimes. I believe Singer talked about him a month or so ago.

I'd be curious to know, too.

We need to start gaining traction with other targets. A good amount of committed WR's will sign in about 10 days. Very few left available to flip or push for.

EDIT: I also believe Jarel Williams out of Alabama, who is a WVU commit, was previously mentioned.

Wonder if Del is circling around on Joseph Griffin, Jr. again...

IDK. I'm a PA guy that had to play his High School (absolute powerhouse Southern Columbia) every year we made a playoff run. Lots of my friends and family were really encouraging him to go to ND, and presently are as well, based on his character and what would most benefit him long-term. He's one of those players that I think a transfer to ND would work on a lot of levels. But I have no insider information and I don't want to start any rumors.

What high school were you?

BTW, as PANDFAN has mentioned numerous times, Fleming is never a take. Grades and personality were never a match, and I've heard that myself from multiple people.

I think Elston saw Griffin play when he went to see Boubacar Traore, but I’m not sure they had any contact or anything. I’d love Griffin

Elston did not end up visiting that ‘22 TX DE, per Singer.

I haven’t seen anything on additional WR’s.

Riverside, how about you? Lots of family in the Danville area as well, some of whom went to Southern. Shoot me a PM if you're from the area as well.

Yeah, like I said, I have no insider information--just rumors from people in the area that now seem to be incorrect. I suspect it started with that random Twitter poster.

PANDFAN is always reliable and is much more informed than me. The more I write, the more it would be buying in to what is now clearly baseless, so I'll leave it at that.

Lots of drama this year. It's all part of the game when you're going after high level guys though. Schrauth is ND vs. Wisconsin. Moore looks like ND vs. Florida with both scheduled for visits this weekend. Williams is ND vs. California generally. Walker is ND vs. Michigan. All of these are toss-ups right now.

It's going to be a wild finish. If MFMF can somehow keep everyone in the fold that is a massive win for his first signing day.

My in-laws all went to Riverside -- one played at Cuse and was McNabb's best friend back in the day. I'm from the WA school district but shoot up to the Old Forge/Taylor area all the time for pizza whenever I'm home.

Haha, that's really cool! Are you referring to Coach Dave Rebar by chance? He played with McNabb. And damn was he a hardcore coach (my brother and I both played for him and still love him).

Yeah, and the pizza really is amazing--my parents once over-nighted a tray of Revello's to Alaska on my birthday, haha.

I was remaining confident in Scrauth but hard to imagine us locking it down with no OL coach right?

right now the OL is in a state of flux at ND while at UW it remains a model of consistency.

Cory Bowen. He was on the OL and McNabb’s roommate at Cuse.

That is not the news I wanted to hear on Moore. It seemed like ND was in line to get him back in the fold and instead, he's all but gone.

Man we need some good news on the recruiting front for '22 in the absolutely worst way, because with Moore gone and CJ and Walker looking around, this class is shaping to fall apart at the finish line. Hard to call this class great when you only land 3 DB's and maybe 2 receivers in a year where you needed at least 4 DBs and 3 receivers. We need CJ and Walker locked up and to find a Khari Gee signing day get to replace Moore.

Maybe there is one last Hail Mary at QB. Nick Evers. Loy has brought him up recently. He decommitted from UF today and Loy is saying we’re more involved than what some realize.

Now, that’s a little contradictory to what Singer has recently reported when he stated that we were sticking with 1 QB because Pyne was staying. But, that was also before this news. We’ll see.

Yeah this one is interesting. Supposedly only ND, Texas, and Kansas State are in it. Who knows. THIS IS CROOTIN.

I don't know if we'll make any progress on Evers. There was a report he asked Napier to not take another QB commit in the class and when Napier said he was open to taking a second, Evers decommitted. If that is true, I don't see why he would join our class as the second QB.
