Notre Dame statement on Lou Holtz speaking at the RNC:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Statement from <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NotreDame?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NotreDame</a> president Rev. John Jenkins, regarding Lou Holtz’ speech last night at the RNC. Holtz referred to Biden as “Catholic in name only”. <a href="https://t.co/uLedpuqvlF">pic.twitter.com/uLedpuqvlF</a></p>— Pete Byrne (@PeteByrneWSBT) <a href="https://twitter.com/PeteByrneWSBT/status/1299070796669898752?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">August 27, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Lou wouldn't be so political if his success was still dependent upon his ability to recruit top athletes.

The Republicans have certainly done a great job with the RNC. Makes the DNC last week look like amateur hour. Can't wait for Tom Cotton 2024

Not hard to have better optics with an audience and violating the Hatch Act. I’ll give credit where credit is due... the RNC might’ve convinced some disaffected Republicans to get off the fence and vote for Trump in November.

Then again, most people realize his first term has been an abject failure full of lies and broken promises — https://www.keepamericagreat.com/

Also, pretty funny that the favorite line of attack on Biden is that he’s supposed to have “dementia” but Trump can’t even read a teleprompter or string together complete sentences. Sad watching him struggle up there and just say nonsensical stuff when he can’t read what’s in front of him. “I profoundly accept this nomination” and “pioneered the fatality rate” were my two favorites.

The RNC has been absolutely amazing. Well organized and great lineup. The Kentucky AG and Tim Scott were the highlights for me.

With the usual Trump intransigence, I would be surprised if we will see any further Coronavirus relief package.

2000 people not social distancing/wearing masks in a pandemic when thousands of people have already suffered and died. What planet are you on right now??

Also why does the media only care about guidelines when its a political display on the right? Wheres the criticism about the large gatherings that left leaning mayors participated in, sometimes unmasked. Masks don't do much in those situations

examples of such gatherings? If you are referring to BLM protests, again there is no data to suggest any of these caused Covid spikes in their respective cities.

So those at the convention will spread Covid, but protestors won't?

A good, fair review of both candidate's health care positions and proposalsl
Health Care and the 2020 Presidential Election (KFF, Aug 25, 2020)

Also, From Trump interviews:
“If you can’t take care of your sick in the country, forget it, it’s all over. I mean, it’s no good. So I’m very liberal when it comes to health care. I believe in universal health care. I believe in whatever it takes to make people well and better.” — Larry King Live, 1999

There's many different ways, by the way. Everybody's got to be covered. This is an un-Republican thing for me to say because a lot of times they say, 'No, no, the lower 25 percent that can't afford private'… I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now … the government's gonna pay for it. But we're going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it's going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything." — “60 Minutes,” September 27, 2015

“[W]e’re going to do it simultaneously. It’ll be just fine. We’re not going to have, like, a two-day period and we’re not going to have a two-year period where there’s nothing. It will be repealed and replaced. And we’ll know. And it’ll be great health care for much less money. So it’ll be better health care, much better, for less money. Not a bad combination.” — "60 Minutes," November 13, 2016

Promises kept.

Biden got spooked by polls to come out of his hole for a 12 minute speech with some notable lies and moments of incoherent rambling.

It was a rough 12 minutes because he didn't take questions and took today off to recover.

Here is a notable lie in Pennsylvania.

Democrats already talking about votes coming in for them after the election night. I don't know how the country will react if they try to steal the Presidential election like they did with Young Kim out here in California. She was 14 points up a one point on election night and was declared the winner until two weeks later it was taken. She even went to Freshman orientation and her historic win (first female Korean) was featured on CNN and Fox. Two weeks later it was given to the Democrat without even a fight by the Republicans. Don't see that happening if it occurs at a national level.

In the Mass primaries today for the Senate seat, U.S. Senator Ed Markey beat U.S. Representative Joseph P. Kennedy III 55-46% with 78% of the vote counted in the Democratic primary.

Was Kennedy not the Democrat chosen to given their rebuttal a few years back? I guess he is not the rising star he was expected to be.

"Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced Tuesday that 1,000 Georgians voted twice in the state’s June 9 primary, a felony that he said will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

These voters returned absentee ballots and then also showed up to vote on election day June 9, Raffensperger said. County election officials are able to stop double-voting most of the time, but they weren’t able to catch everyone."

Governor Stacey Abrams was not reached for comment after spending years crying of voter suppression. Apparently, that voter suppression is so far gone that people are voting twice.

Is it a felony to suborn voter fraud?

I doubt it.
1,000 out of 2.4 million total votes, 1.15 million of which were absentee. Will be interesting to see if that percentage is similar to other states' primary seasons.

It's low, but it's also a primary and all they were able to detect, so far. We can't say this stuff doesn't exist. So many people are riled up for the Fall that who knows how many try, especially, if it's easy with a ballot showing up to your mailbox.

Sounds like an all-mail voting system as in Colorado is the way to go.

I know that Steve Watkins, a U.S. Rep (R), for a Kansas District faces felony charges of voting without being qualified and unlawful advance voting. He also faces a third felony charge for allegedly lying to a Shawnee County detective.

If he did it, book em.

I'm the other way. Too many people trying to do crooked stuff in these elections. Get your but to the polls and show an Id before you vote.
