I don't get the big deal. Who hasn't rubbed one off during a meeting before? Raise your hand. Guys? Bueller?

One of the students we hired told me the other day someone in their class was mixing macaroni during lecture...

To be fair, I've cracked a cold one during class this semester. The President of the Havard Law federalist society was seen tinkering with a gun during class this spring lol.

As long as your dick ain't out I don't think anyone cares

None of this is complicated. The FBI isn't going to randomly release information to the public -- especially if it's an ongoing investigation -- without being compelled to by the Executive Branch or Legislative Branch. This isn't Comey's FBI, Trump has his own appointee in charge, and he also can fire whoever he wants whenever he wants.

But hey, forget the FBI for a second. Trump could order his lawyer Giuliani to produce the copy for independent verification of the contents. He's doing neither. Literally both groups who have the information work directly for him. He does want people he to have the facts, he wants to be able to milk the the story for two weeks. This is fine, it's good politics. I respect the hustle. But let's not pretend Trump and his associates are trustworthy, and lets not pretend that its not clear why this information is being intentionally leaked bit-by-bit by Trump's lawyer to keep it in the news cycle exactly how they want all the way through election day. It's good strategy.

Lax, IIRC, even you said something like "it would be wild if the FBI had this and Trump didn't know" or something to that effect.

And no, it's not complicated. I don't expect the FBI to release "random" stuff to the public. I do expect however that they let the Senate know, which apparently they did not. The Senate has actually been pretty clear they want to know.

And no, I'm not going to forget about the FBI. If Trump ordered Rudy to give up the copy, everyone simply doubt whatever is found because Rudy has it. It needs to come from the FBI. And bottom line, saying Trump "controls" the FBI is very LOL based on what we've seen the last 4 years.

OK then why not have Giuliani release it? Giuliani also works directly for Trump. Why leak unverified bits piece-by-piece rather than have all the contents independently verified if they were worried about the truth?

And let's be real -- Trump has installed sycophants in every single position, and where they haven't done his bidding with blind obedience they've been forced. Many of which then go on record about how incompetent, stupid, and unethical Trump is.

DNI Ratcliffe went on Fox News today to say there's "no evidence" that this is part of Russian disinformation. Great, we should believe our DNI, right? Except that he then follows it up by saying the unverified information he "declassified" at Lindsey Graham's request before the first debate... and where he admitted in the document itself he couldn't be sure of the accuracy... was "authentic" Russian intelligence. Good grief. But then there's more! He closes by telling people how to vote in the election, because if Trump loses he's out of a job.

All of the people feeding us information right now have self-serving bias. I'd like to see someone independent take a look at the information, but Trump won't release it. So it's going to be two weeks of him playing offense and trying to claw his way back into the race. It's smart politics but nothing more than that.

to the bolded.

You call Wray a sycophant? He has a history of working for, and with Comey? I never understood his appointment to begin with, but he's not a Trumper.

I don't ask you to trust, or believe Ratcliffe, or anyone in the FBI, CIA, etc. But don't ask me to believe any of them either, based on convenient narrative. There are however some basic things the FBI can confirm or deny.

Why are you harping for an independent review of what Rudy has. Folks will simply doubt it because it came from Rudy. You should be asking for an independent review of what the FBI has.

Listening on the local news last night they mentioned due to scheduling conflicts Pence has to mail in his ballot instead of voting in person. His address is still listed as the governor's mansion. It's been four years Mike. Karen could have swung by the PO and requested a change of address form. lol

Trump just condemned white supremacy again in his town hall. Sadly you can't control who loves you. I mean...look at my wife. If I could find someone else who would actually do the laundry and put up with my video game habit do you think I would have married her? Sometimes you're stuck with someone!

It’s hardly ever The Who but the why. Haha.

Cool, so what about the Scientific American and New England Journal of Medicine? Do you have some quick explainer away about their endorsements or what they based it on?

What about General John Kelly -- Trump's former Chief of Staff -- who said:

Or how about Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (he sure signed some checks!) who said:

You can go on and on and on with these kinds of examples. General Jim Mattis, General H.R. McMaster, Gary Cohn, John Bolton, Steve Bannon... you name it. There are people who have worked for him from the right wing and center who all have sounded the alarm and said he's a total moron incapable of doing the job.

No, you're more concerned about the opinion of Ronny Jackson -- who had to withdraw his nomination to lead the VA amid scandal after Trump nominated him -- and who admitted he has never treated Joe Biden and was basing all of his opinions on conjecture. Yeah, he's a super unbiased person who should definitely be listened to after Democrats effectively ended his career by bringing his misconduct to light.

See if you want to be honest that you just hate liberals and progressive policy so much that you would vote for a turd sandwich over any Democrat then that's fine. I actually respect that, full stop. That's intellectually honest. But anyone who wants to pitch me that Joe Biden is actually the corrupt one and the Joe Biden is actually the liar can fuck off. It's not close. One person is running on a platform of trying to bring the country back together and restore governmental norms, the other is tweeting about how Seal Team Six didn't actually kill Bin Laden and holding super spreader events in the middle of a pandemic.

I'm not sure how much endorsements like these really matter. They never sway my vote. Curious if they really impact voting.

Now, when you see a group like the Taliban endorse anyone, I just laugh. Any level minded person isn't going to take that seriously.

China seems to be endorsing Biden lol.. The Chinese state-owned Global Times published an op-ed giving Joe a de-facto endorsement.

The 5th district congressional race in Indiana between Christina Hale and Victoria Spartz has seen both parties spend a combined $16 million. Not sure how that compares to other races, but as soon as a commercial for one finishes, a commercial for the other one starts.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) says Hale leads 50 - 45. Polls in August showed Spartz leading by 8 percent so I'm not sure there has been a 13 point swing.

One of the folks over at Fox says the DOJ and FBI do not believe Hunter's laptop are part of any Russian campaign. For those following more closely, was that a concern?

So seems that the FBI and DOJ are pretty much confirming that the FBI has the laptop. And both agree it's not a Russian hoax.

So I realize some of you will keep pounding the "it's Russia", "Biden is a good guy", "even if the emails are real, it doesn't prove anything" narrative.

That said, anyone being honest would think the MSM's role, if they are being true journalists, would be to ask some very easy and basic questions directly to Joe. Did you meet with anyone representing Burisma? Did you meet with anyone from Kazakhstan that Hunter was representing? Are you the "big guy" receiving equity referenced in the China dealings?

And please.... no more of the Schiff "it's disinformation from the Kremlin" stuff. That is, unless you have proof, and not the anecdotal shiny object stuff.

There were also more pictures released today of the Bidens with some of these overseas business partners which VP Biden claimed to have never met.

Another thing to follow is that it is reported Hunter Biden never filed as a foreign agent under the FARA Act. That has put several people in prison over the last four years.

There are a lot of things Presidents say they plan on doing their first day of office. Don't believe pardoning their son has ever been one though.

What is rich as hell, is not too long ago, part of Biden's platform called for making it illegal for an American to lobby on behalf of a foreign government, or business tied to a foreign government (originally part of Warren's platform). We've heard crickets on this since all the mess with Hunter has started.

After the Biden rep's (Jenna Arnold) interview, pretty clear they are doing everything they can not to answer simple and direct questions. That was pretty hilarious.

In Florida, which was subject to gerrymandering, the Fair District Amendment in 2010 to the Florida Constitution was approved by 63% of voters.

Backroom dealing began to preserve power structures and thirteen lawsuits were filed by the League of Women Voters and Common Cause. All were won by the plaintiffs. Redistricting maps were drawn and redrawn and one was finally approved by the Legislature that corresponded to the will of the people through the Amendment.

Opinion article by the President of the League.
New Supreme Court justices must honor voters and uphold Fair Districts | Commentary

Excerpt:
But what did the Legislature do? They engaged in a scheme with political operatives to draw the new district maps in back rooms. And while those maps were being drawn, they intentionally lied to the public by promising the most open, transparent and interactive redistricting process ever…including public forums where some spent time reviewing their Facebook pages and checking out local plastic surgery clinics.

After we challenged the maps in court, respected Tallahassee Circuit Judge, Terry Lewis eloquently found: “A group of political operatives did in fact conspire to manipulate and influence the redistricting process. … They made a mockery of the Legislature’s proclaimed transparent and open process of redistricting by doing all of this in the shadow of that process, utilizing the access it gave them to the decision makers, but going to great lengths to conceal from the public their plan and their participation in it.”

After years of work and 13 successful lawsuits upholding the new laws in a number of courts, it was deeply concerning to read about newly elected Gov. Ron DeSantis’s comments to the Federalist Society, a conservative group of lawyers and judges.
According to reports, he (DeSantis) received a standing ovation when he suggested that his newly appointed Supreme Court justices would play a more activist role in redistricting. Was he suggesting that the Court ignore the constitutional rules that 63 percent of Florida voters supported when they voted for Fair Districts in 2010?

Redistricting in Florida

Borat put his 15 yo relative in a hotel room to interview Rudi. She said she was a conservative reporter and she interviewed Rudi. SHe took his mic off and then this happened. Could be nothing. Seems like he has his hand on his junk in the presence of a minor. Probably nothing actually wrong here but awkward as hell. lol.

I have a Spartz sign in my yard. I early voted today and spent 90 minutes in line. I've never waited in line before. It was quite long. I see a lot of signs for both and the ad blitz has been insane here.

China seems to be endorsing Biden lol.. The Chinese state-owned Global Times published an op-ed giving Joe a de-facto endorsement.

They prob agree with his pro-China mindset, have Hunter's number still stored on the phone, and his agenda prob doesn't look too crazy to them.

I see Biden is going with the "America was never great" (taking his words in the most negative light) strategy. Seems like an easy dunk for Donald to show American troops at Normandy, Neil Armstrong on the Moon, Miracle on Ice, Jesse Owen's at the Olympics, Reagan at the Berlin Wall, Hell even show G Dubs throwing the most beautiful first pitch in American history at the 2001 World Series.

The whole beauty of the MAGA mentality is it suggests we've lost our way and we can get back to it. Biden saying we've never lived up to the American Ideal or whatever seems like a prime opportunity to basically go "America, fuck yeah!" on his geriatric ass.

People would rather be told we've done it before and we'll do it again rather than "lets tell our kids we suck and we'll try to do better." What a lame and Low T/Beta mentality lol. Time to go Apollo Creed "living in America" energy on this clown. Donald is good at bringing that energy too so thats a bonus.

Sidenote: a staggering number of young people have no idea about the Miracle on Ice. When I was in middle/high school we watched that movie like once a year when a teacher was out sick or something. So badass. Ralph Cox got robbed btw.

I remember watching the actual game as a child, along with Heiden that year. Still can't believe they didn't air that game live. I had no idea it was delayed.
