From July in the 2019 Master Thread.

Interesting follows for a Georgia prospect with numerous ND connections.

RMannellyPic6.jpg

Ryan Mannelly's an unrated 6-3/230 - DE/OG/LS with an offer from Army.

On D, he had 13 Sks, 11 TFL & 14 QBH. He was First Team All Dekalb County and HM All State. Also plays baseball.

He has follows from both the recruiting & coaching staff.

Here's the interesting stuff:

Current teammate of Kyle Hamilton at Marist School.

Dad is Bernard Mannelly who was a lineman for Lou in the late 80's - early 90's.

Uncle is Patrick Mannelly, the greatest LS in NFL history who played 16 seasons with the Bears. Had 2200+ career snaps without a miscue. Mannelly still works in Chicago doing sports radio. Patrick played at Duke and was actually drafted by the Bears as a LS.

I know the Irish got PWO LS Michael Vinson out of IL last cycle but it seems Mannelly would be a multi-faceted all around PWO.

Former Princeton Commit flipped to ND for a PWO

Princeton never had a chance with that name.

It's clear this kid has never ever valued education. If he did, he would have definitely given UW a shot.

Surprised Quinn didn’t have more P5 offers. I bet if he waited until NSD he would have. Pretty impressive film for a PWO.

Not sure if you meant Williams or Wellesley but they are both colleges anyways.

If it wasn't for Bertrand, I'd be more interested in Quinn than any other PWO, ever.

Great to have a smart kid like that, regardless of how it works out on the field. At best, he surprises. At worst, he's a great kid, and brings up the team's GPA.

So I'm going to assume that tweet isn't football related unless we have a secret extra scholarship for a player that wasn't on anyone's radar haha. The confusing part is that he is also not listed on the soccer signing page:
https://spark.adobe.com/page/rJMi1CP81Momg/

So I don't know whats going on with him. Maybe he got an academic scholarship and the coaches from either soccer or football asked him to walk on as well?

Edit: Sounds from this tweet like he is done playing soccer, so I guess its not that.

I don't think so. There was another tweet about a playoff game, so it looks like they are already in the postseason in Louisiana. It being this late already is weird for me. In Illinois soccer was at the same time as football.

He did win a Latino scholarship in NOLA for continuing studies last summer. Not sure if that was for his last year in HS. He's either on a non related academic, or soccer. Smart kid, but who knows
