The Cincinnati Bengals select:

Billy Price, C, Ohio State

The Bengals go G and then C to start the draft in an effort to retool their OL. There is plenty of skill position talent on the offense. Fixing the OL puts them back in the playoffs, and this start to draft is encouraging.

The Arizona Cardinals select:

Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M

The Cardinals still need help at DB and probably along the OL, but they can't pass on Kirk's playmaking ability with the glaring need at WR.

He offers special teams upside, as well, and will pair nicely with new QB Lamar Jackson. They can get the chemistry down ASAP.

Dang that's a pretty good retooling in one offseason w/ getting Glenn.

Having filled their DT need with Da'Ron Payne, with the 48th pick the Chargers select:

Justin Reid, S, Stanford

Reid is one of the top Free Safeties, has versatility since he has played CB at Stanford in addition to Safety, can cover slots and sticks with TEs in a division that has Travis Kelce and adds physicality. He has football intelligence with a brother, Eric, in the NFL as well as his father having played in the NFL.

Mayock's next ten available.

34. Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama
35. Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina
36. Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia
39. Austin Corbett, OL, Nevada
43. Nathan Shepherd, DT, Fort Hays State
47. Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State
49. James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State
50. Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
51. Lorenzo Carter, Edge, Georgia
52. Uchenna Nwosu, Edge, USC

The Colts are up to select their third pick in Round 2!

Halfway through the second round.

With 49th pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Colts select Orlando Brown, OT from Oklahoma. Even with a horrible combine, Brown has a great tape. He can start off as RT and eventually become the LT for the Colts and protect Luck's blindside.

Since no one has stepped up as GM, the Dallas Cowboys, having addressed their main need at LB with Rashaan Evans, let's get Dak Prescott some more receiving help. With the 50th pick, the Cowboys select

James Washington, WR, Oklahoma State

Washington finished among the nation's leaders in receiving yards (1,549), averaging 20.9 yards on his 74 reception (tops nationally among wideouts with 50 or more receptions) and scored 13 times as Mason Rudolph's main target. He will need to adapt to NFL defenses after against Big 12 defenses. Washington merited consideration for the Cowboys Round 1 pick, though LB was a greater need.

Mayock's next ten available.

34. Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama
35. Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina
36. Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia
39. Austin Corbett, OL, Nevada
43. Nathan Shepherd, DT, Fort Hays State
47. Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State
50. Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
51. Lorenzo Carter, Edge, Georgia
52. Uchenna Nwosu, Edge, USC
53. Jessie Bates III, S, Wake Forest

We've had a run on WRs.

No no no. He's supposed to fall to the third round, and the Bengals take him there after going three-straight OL to start their draft, and then their OL was fixed for the next 6 years.

You've mucked it all up.

This one is a tough choice for the lions. With the run on RB in the 2nd rd chubb could very well be the pick. But with the DL needing so much help they will select Lorenzo Carter DE from Georgia

With the 52th pick of the IE mock draft, the Baltimore Ravens select:

Hayden Hurst, TE, South Carolina

The Ravens were set to pick James Washington, but another GM stole him out from under him. Hurst, who played pro-baseball as a pitcher, is older at 23, but has great hands, can be moved all over the field and is a threat in all three zones.

Buffalo is up and needs a GM for two of the next four picks. (Previous pick - Baker Mayfield. Needs OT, C, WR. Their starting Center retired due to neck injury and they traded their starting OT, Cordy Glenn)

The Buffalo Bills select:

Austin Corbett, OG, Nevada

The Bills got their QB, but now they need to figure out how to protect him, or at least how to protect AJ McCarron while Mayfield holds the Microsoft Surface Tablet for a year.

They got rid of Cordy Glenn in an effort to gain some draft capital, which was okay, but Richie Incognito's sudden retirement really throws their OL into a garbage can.

Corbett is the best available OL, and addresses an interior need. Now the Bills need to find value at OT in the ensuing rounds.

With the 54th pick of the IE Mock Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select:

Ronnie Harrison, S, Alabama

The Chiefs need Pass Rushing help in addition to secondary help, including CB. But CB is deep and there is not the value in Edge Rushers at this point. Lorenzo Carter was considered as well as OG but Austin Corbett is now gone.

Harrison is a big hitter, very experienced, can line up against big TEs and in multiple positions, fearless, and will make a nice tandem with Eric Berry.

Mayock's next ten available.

36. Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia
43. Nathan Shepherd, DT, Fort Hays State
47. Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State
50. Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
52. Uchenna Nwosu, Edge, USC
53. Jessie Bates III, S, Wake Forest
54. D.J. Chark, WR, LSU
55. B.J. Hill, DT, N.C. State
56. Rasheem Green, DE, USC
58. Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State

The Carolina Panthers select:

Donte Jackson, CB, LSU

The Panthers had big holes at WR and CB. They addressed WR in round 1, and now they add a guy at CB in round 2 that might be as good as the corners taken in the later half of round 1. Good value here.

Pushing towards the finish line, with the 56th pick, the Buffalo Bills select:

Malik Jefferson, ILB, Texas

LB is one of the Bills top needs. Matt Milano is solid, played WLB last year, but could move to ILB. Jefferson has great talent and athleticism and physicality. Jefferson gave up just 3.30 yards per tackle in 2017 and he did not allow a single touchdown into his coverage on 55 career targets. Also considered was OT, Tyrell Crosby.

With the 57th pick, the Tennessee Titans fill their need for an ILB with:

Josey Jewell, ILB, Iowa

A three year starter, Jewell is a typical old school ILB, a tackling machine, who is physical, and instinctual with a nose for the football. Jewell was a three year starter and Iowa's first three year captain, with over 120 tackles each year. He needs to work on coverage of RBs, is not the athlete that Jefferson is, and may turn into a two down LB, stuffing the oppositions runs. He should replace Avery Williamson, who led the Titans in tackles last year.

Tennessee's previous pick was Sam Hubbard, DE.

Atlanta is on the clock.

The falcons addressed DT in the 1st round. They need WR and LB the most at this point. So with this pick following the pick of 2 LB ahead of them. Thevfalcons select WR Anthony Miller from Memphis

With the 59th pick the San Francisco 49ers select....Jesse Bates III from Wake Forest!

Bates gives us a versatile safety that can compensate for losing Reid and not being able to count on Ward or Tartt yet. We looked closely at Chark from LSU but not crazy about him and will swing for a WR later. Our failed attempts to turn this pick into a 1st rounder to snag Ridley may haunt us.

Arrowryan will get some time to make his pick. We're in the home stretch!

Prophetically, he said this under the Fanspeak Simulator thread on his Pittsburgh picks:

Round 2; Pick 60: James Washington, WR from Oklahoma State

I really wanted to go safety or linebacker with this pick; someone screwed me and took Jesse Bates before me and I didn't want to reach for a linebacker. So, like a good front office does, I went BPA and didn't reach. James Washington reminds me a little bit of Antonio Brown. He was a very productive receiver at OSU and I think he would do very well in the Pittsburgh offense. Having JuJu Smith and James Washington would give Ben's replacement some good weapons to rely on. Also, there is a 99% chance that Martinis Bryant is gone after this season, so they need to replace him.
Mayock's next ten available.

36. Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia
43. Nathan Shepherd, DT, Fort Hays State
47. Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State
50. Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
52. Uchenna Nwosu, Edge, USC
54. D.J. Chark, WR, LSU
55. B.J. Hill, DT, N.C. State
56. Rasheem Green, DE, USC
58. Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State
59. Braden Smith, OG, Auburn

With the 60th pick on the NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select...

Uchenna Nwosu; OLB/DE from USC

Again, Jesse Bates was taken just before this pick and picking a different safety with this pick would be a reach. Wide receiver was also an option here (Pettis). To go along with Vander Esch, Pittsburgh gets a new edge rusher to be opposite of TJ Watt. Even though Pittsburgh recently picked Bud Dupree's 5th year option, he hasn't quite lived up to his potential. Nwosu is a speed rusher as he ran a 4.65 in the 40 yard dash. The already young Pittsburgh front 7 gets even younger and these two will have no issue replacing the speed that Shazier had.

Now, lets go get Kyzir White, Marcus Allen, or Terrell Edmunds in the third.

I'll take Jacksonville. With the 61st pick in the Irish Envy Mock Draft, the Jaguars select:

EQUANIMEOUS ST. BROWN, WR from the University of Notre Dame

ESB's production may have fallen due to our change in QBs, but his potential to be a team's Number 1 WR is evident. The Jags don't have a genuine #1 with Marquis Lee and Donte Moncrief current WRs. ILB is a pressing need with Paul Poluzny retiring. Tegray Scales, LB and Mike Gesicki, TE were considered.

Minnesota is on the clock.

The Vikings need a corner, but there’s no value at this spot in round 2... so they select:

Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State

The Vikings are all-in on adding help all around new QB Kirk Cousins. He got an interior OL in round 1, and now he gets a second security blanket to go with Kyle Rudolph. We considered DJ Chark, but Gesecki has added value in that he can take over for Rudolph next year, saving the team some cash in the near future.
